Creating a Work Space for Working at Hom

If you have children, then you know that slowly but gradually every room in the house is permeated by their presence. There is, of course, the noise, which never seems to cease unless they are asleep. Secondly, there seem to appear socks, shoes, toys, books, crayons, pens, and all sorts of dolls and blocks that just seem to turn up in the oddest places. Yet did you know that work, especially when you are working from home, seems to do exactly the same thing? Oh sure, you don’t have crayons and dolls laying around, but there are files, pencils, reference books, calendars, appointments books, and sticky notes everywhere. First they may have started out in your home office, but before you know it they have migrated to your kitchen, living room, and even bedroom. No area is safe, and you are beginning to wonder what you could do to work efficiently but also leave the work behind when you are done. The answer is creating a proper workspace for working at home!

Create a Work Space by Making Room

If you have a spare bedroom that you could turn into a home office, or maybe an attic or basement, you are in luck! If you do not have the extra room, consider moving out of your own bedroom to make the space. Sure, this sounds harsh, but depending on how serious you are about your work, and how much work there is to do, you will need to have a separate space, and considering that most folks do not use the bedroom for anything other than sleeping, you might be better served, if you are working from home fulltime, to move out of your bedroom and buy one of those wardrobes that allows you to pull down the bed when you are ready.

Make Sure You Have the Essentials

While your needs may vary, it is always a good idea to have a separate telephone line for your business. In your home office is also the location where the answering machine, fax, computer, assorted peripherals, and supplies are kept. Your copier toner has no business staying in your linen closet, just like you would not keep your socks in your filing cabinet. You will also need a space for your business related files. If you are an artisan, you will need adequate space for your art supplies, as well as a working surface and good light. A corkboard for posting reminder rounds out the must-haves for your essential home business office. Of course, much of the furniture and absolute must-haves for your home office depend on you. Make sure you know your work habits well enough to know what is important to you and what you can do without. If you are by nature a neat freak, then make sure you have ample filing spaces. If, on the other hand, you thrive in a controlled chaos, set up your office so you can have some space to work with.

Keep Work Related Computers Separate

While your kids may love your work computer, you really should buy another one for the family room. You don’t want your kids playing computer games on your work computer and by accident download a bunch of files that will corrupt your hard drive. Similarly, you do want to try and keep home records and business records separate, and so separate filing systems should be kept.

Install a Door

If you home office does not already have a door, go ahead and install one. This will allow you at the end of the business day to actually close the door to your work, any unfinished projects, and will provide you with that physical barrier that will permit you to keep your work from spilling out into your family room and by extension your family life.

As you can see, there are no hard and fast rules to setting up your workspace for working at home. The great thing about being able to work from home is the fact that you can tailor your space to your own personality and to your own needs, yet too many times folks forget to take advantage of this new freedom and instead find themselves in home offices that are entirely unsuitable to them. Do not let this happen to you!

Working at Home? How to Separate Family from Business

What are the biggest perks of working at home? Undoubtedly the privilege of sitting out the morning rush hour comes to mind as the biggest and best perk! Next is the fact that you will be able to tailor some of your workload to allow you to spend more time with family and friends. Consider the advantage of being there to see off your children when they are leaving for school in the morning, and then also being home when they come back in the afternoon. You will be able to hear about their school day, help with the homework, and have some tasty snacks waiting just for them!

Of course, there are some problems that come with working at home. Here are five tips on how to separate family from business without shortchanging either party!

Install a business telephone line with voicemail. You and nobody else should only use this telephone in the home, which is a rule that will be especially important if you have teenagers in the home. Turn on the ringer when your business opens, for example after the kids have left for school, and then turn it off again when your business day has come to a close, for example when the kids are due to arrive home from school. The voicemail should be able to get whatever business related calls you will get after hours. Resist the temptation of giving out your business line number to friends and family as an alternate way of getting a hold of you. Similarly, do not give out your home number to your business contacts, no matter if they are your best clients or not. Think about it, you would not consider working at a store and giving your home number to customers just in case they have a question on the television they just purchased, would you?

Practice saying “no” to friends and family. It is truly amazing how quickly friends and family will assume that you have plenty of free time now that you are working from home. It is uncertain why thought permeates the minds of those who do not work from home, yet it is almost a given that before long you will be called upon to give rides to the grocery store, baby-sit children, take family pets to the groomers’ or vet, or simply to be an available friend for a visit and chat. Make sure to explain to your family and friends that during business hours, you are working and you will not be available for errands or even friendly visits. If they wish to schedule a lunch with you, it needs to be scheduled just like you would any lunch visit during working hours.

Practice saying “no” to customers and clients. This might be a bit harder since you do not want to alienate the people who pay your wages. Nonetheless, work time is reserved for work, and family time is reserved for family. If you do not draw a line with clients or customers, do not be surprised if they show up on your doorstep at all hours of the day or night, and call you incessantly. Require that clients set up appointments and that your customer will respect the “closed” sign that is located on your door.

If you must work while your children are in the home, make sure to explain to them that during working hours they will need to find alternate methods of entertaining themselves. This is a good time for them to playing with their Lego blocks, model cars or dolls. You might even consider putting a sign on your home office door that alerts your children to the fact that the only things that should cause them to disturb you are the need for a hug, band-aid, or fire extinguisher!

Last but not least, resist the temptation of working past your posted hours. Your family had done everything in their power to let you have the time you need to get your work done. Working longer hours cuts into their time and is not fair to them. A healthy balance will ensure that everyone’s needs get met.

Banish Work at Home Burnout – Tips to Keep You Going

Burnout is the byproduct of long hours, hard work, little appreciation, and more and more work dumped on you at the most inopportune times. It can be found in any job, any career field, and in almost any work situation. It is not surprising then that even those who appear to be living the American Dream, namely working from home complete with fuzzy slippers on their feet, and favorite coffee mugs by sides, still suffer from work at home burnout. Fortunately there are some things you can do to banish the work at home burnout, which may be easier to accomplish since you are your own boss.

Here are some tried and true tips to keep you going:

Use the proper equipment. For example, if you are freelance writer and you are required to submit your writing in a certain format, it is wise to own the software that will permit you to complete the assignment thusly; however, if your computer was new when Bill Gates first took the computing world by storm, and you need to pre-write everything on old software and then take it to a friend’s house to convert it into the correct format just so that you can send it on, you will most likely get burned out on that process rather quickly. So make sure that you have the adequate tools you need to do the work. Similarly, if you will be working a large amount of time at your computer, but you do not have a computer desk and instead sit hunched over the keyboard and suffer from back pain for the rest of the evening, you will once again burn out much quicker than if you have ergonomically correct equipment.

Set your work hours and stick to them. Sure, it is tempting to take Fluffy for a walk in the woods, the kids to the water park, and do a million household chores before sitting down and doing your work, but remember that you cannot do it all. No matter what clever advertisers try to sell you, the answer is “no” – you cannot have it all and you cannot do it all. The notion of super-mom or super-dad is a figment of the imagination that has nothing to do with reality. If you work from home, you will need to set your hours and stick to them. This means negotiating with your family, friends, and yourself. For example, if you are working part-time from home, and require four hours of work every day to keep up with your responsibilities, it is up to you to decide if you want to do these four hours in one sitting, or divide them up into two two-hour blocks. No matter what works best for you, make a plan and stick to it.

Do something you like, rather than something you endure. Opening that home daycare may have sounded like a great idea at the time, but if you suddenly find that you dread the idea of having a house full of screaming children you will need to think about doing something else with your time. There is no shame in trying out a business only to find later that it does not suit you.

Once your office hours are done, do not fall into the trap of working longer. It is easy to do, but it will not net you as much success as you hope. As a matter of fact, you will find yourself burning out even quicker than if you had just stuck to your schedule.

Reward yourself and take a day off. Look at the work you need to accomplish and try to apportion it so that you can take a day off here and there. If you have to work every day in order to meet your goals and expectations, you might need to realign them with real life. You still want to have a social life, a family life, and just some me-time that does not require you to do work.

It is easy to see why home workers suffer from burnout just like their counterparts that drive to an office or other business location every day. Yet it is just as easily seen that with a little bit of planning, and some restructuring of your workday, you will be able to banish the work at home burnout and keep going!

Balancing Kids and Working at Home – Time-Proven Techniques to Get You Through

Working at home is the dream of almost everyone employed by someone else. You might picture yourself at your computer desk with fuzzy slippers and bathrobe, sipping a coffee and easing into your workday. Perhaps you like the idea of taking your lunch break in your kitchen with a nice hot meal rather than the sandwich fare you usually eat for lunch. Or maybe you like the idea of being home with the kids rather than having to farm them off to sitters, daycare, and after school activities to make the money needed to keep yourself afloat.

Yet did you know that balancing kids and working at home is not as easy as it sounds? Oh sure, you would be physically present in your home with your children, but this does not mean that you will get any work done. As a matter of fact, it might actually mean that you will get nothing done; after all, having mom or dad at home on a weekday is a rare treat for many kids, and it may cause them – and you – to want to make the most of the opportunity and thus instead of sitting in front of your computer finishing your work, you may find your self at the park tossing a baseball or pushing your youngest one on the swing.

Here are some time-proven techniques to get your through your workday, successfully balancing your work and your kids.

Set boundaries – for your kids and your work. Help your children to understand that even though you are physically at home, you are still working. Explain in age appropriate terms what it means to be working, why you do it, and what you expect from them. For example, you may wish to craft a little sign with a colorful pencil and pad of paper, and when your children see that this sign is up on the refrigerator, they will know not to disturb you in your work, but instead play quietly in their play areas. On the other hand, when you take down the drawing, you are fair game, whether you are seated at your computer or not. The same, however, needs to hold true for your business. When you are finished with your workday, your clients will need to know that you are no longer available for business, and whatever they need to let you know will have to wait until tomorrow. Very often the schedule for home workers appears a bit blurred, and clients will think nothing of calling at eight or nine o’clock at night to impart some information or ask questions. This is unacceptable, and it is up to you to enforce that boundary as well.

Set your work schedule with your children’s schedule in mind. For example, if you know that your kids will be out the door by a quarter to eight in the morning to catch the school bus, make sure not to answer your business line before then. Instead, focus your time and energy on them. Have breakfast with them, play some games, help them to get ready, and generally make the most of the time you have in the morning. Then, as soon as they leave, get yourself ready for your own workday so that it will mimic closely their own school day. Thus, when they return from school in the afternoon, you should be able to finish up your workday as well. If little things are left undone, leave them until after the children are in bed, and give yourself an hour to finish up your work. This will be a lot harder during the summer months when the kids are on vacation from school!

Make a promise to yourself and your kids: while you will not be able to play with them during every waking moment that you and they are at home, you promise that you will not miss birthday parties, little league games, mealtimes, and good night stories. Do not put your work before your children, and they will reward you by being more understanding and respectful of the time you do have to put in.

Enlist help of reliable friends and family. Perhaps grandma could take the kids for ice cream once a week, or maybe a friend from church could do some craft activities with them. Whatever the case may be, helping hands will make your burden easier.

It can be done part time or full time, and all type of writing services is needed. Find out what some of the benefits are, and how easy it is to get started when choosing to write from a computer at home.

The dream for a lot of people is to work from home, and a lot of people are doing it. Some make a living in crafts, or even multi level marketing, (MLM), but some have a way for words, or have enough training through experience or education, that allow them to write from home for a living. The great thing about writing from home is that it can be done part time at night or on the weekends, or full time if the situation allows. If it is done full time then there are no more wasted hours traveling back and forth from work, or long expensive lines at the gas station. Childcare costs are eliminated if there are under age children, and school age children have a parent home for emergencies, and after school functions.

In fact, when comparing the cost of working out, unless that is it is a corporate level job with other benefits like health insurance that offset expenditures, costs for working at home are minimal. Generally all is needed is a reliable computer, printer and Internet service provider to write from home. Of course if a specialty job like medical transcription or extensive computer graphics work is needed, the cost will be more to set up and write. There are a lot of different writing styles that is needed. For example, some places on the Internet want people with the ability to do academic style writing on different subjects. Teachers will often supplement their income with papers and articles to magazines and online websites. Anyone that can write in a foreign language is in hot demand, and it is a good way to make a big profit.

Another type of writing is key word writing. Even though it is not as lucrative as other types of writing ventures on the Internet, it does offer some spare change if done part time. Sometimes it can be very profitable, especially if knowledge of website design and a talent for writing is evident. In fact, some people that have a natural talent for words, and can key word write, will just hire someone else to design a site, and use all of their own material. It does not matter what the subject is about knowing how to keyword will propel a site up the ladder in search engine ranking, and it is in demand. General informational writing is just another type of writing that can be done from home. It usually entails no key wording at all, and are written as newsletters and short articles.

Ad sales copy will make a buck if there is a sales background, and have a natural talent for words, or the training. Writing for companies that need ad submissions on a large scale for pay per clicks (PPC) is another way to make money from writing. However, it is commissioned based on the clicks for an ad submitted, and there are a few other costs for setting up an account with a third party payment party center. Other types of writing are for sites that have blogs, and some need surveys that will offer prizes, or even cash for work in writing. Be sure to check them out thoroughly because there are a lot of scams on the Internet.

The world of writing is fascinating with a lot of jobs out there. Use it to make a better life if you have the talent or training, and experiment with different styles too. Always make sure to enjoy it, and in no time the benefits of a little extra cash will be available. It just takes time and patience to get there in the world of writing from home.

There are quite a few legitimate work-at-home opportunities for those who want to start a career at home. Many of them involve the use of the computer, writing, or customer service. Some are for other companies and some would be for you working on your own for another company. Some of the most common tasks that work, as home professionals will do are as follows:

Answer inbound phone calls: You can provide an answering service for busy companies who do not have the time to answer all their calls. You can be either directly employed by the company who you would do the services for or you could contract out your services for a flat fee.

Make sales calls: These are calls that you can make to potential prospects in order to convince them to buy a product or service. You can contract your services out or you can find a company who will hire you on. They will either pay you buy check or they will pay you electronically.

Sell Insurance: If you are an insurance agent you can work out of your home selling insurance. You can also offer yourself to be available to new clients who are in your jurisdiction. You usually would represent a much larger company who wants to expand their territory, or a new company, which wants to begin selling insurance.

Complete Writing or Graphics Projects: These are projects that are usually done on your computer for a company. This is usually contract work that is assigned to you for a fee that you would charge. You can work for clients regularly, and you can also work for clients a few times. Writers will often complete manuals, website articles, stories, books, and other items that they would sell to someone who would purchase their work. Graphic artists will do similar, except that they usually sell computer art. Sometimes traditional paintings and drawings can be sold online as well, but a majority of the graphic arts opportunities posted online are for designing business logos, creating pictures for books, and similar art.

Sell Crafts and Greeting Cards: If you are very artistic, especially if you can combine your artistic talent along with technology, you can make money creating and selling your own greeting cards, and other types of stationery for gifts. You can also sell gift baskets as well.

Sell Computer Software: If you are a computer genius (a.k.a. computer geek) you would be proud to know that you can sell your newly created software packages online. This takes quite a bit of testing at first, and you have to find the right market for your products, but it can be done. You can make quite a bit of money designing new software.

Sell items at Online Auctions Sites: Some people have made a few thousand dollars a month just cleaning out all their storage spaces in their homes.

Schedule Appointments: You may have to take clients’ appointments for your boss if you work at home as well.

You can also start a variety of businesses that would reach out to your community that can be started at home. For instance, you can start a janitorial service by giving out your home phone number to people who would be interested in your services. Not only that, but you could also start an interior decorating service from your home, or any other service where the office can be located in your home, which reaches out to the community. You can also start a day care in your home where your customers will come to you. You have quite a few options when it comes to working at home, or starting a business out of your home.

Many work-at-home jobs where the client or business never has to see the inside of your home, with the exception of you talking through a web camera (yes other industries besides adult ones use them) is a safe way for you to do business. This is especially true with people you don’t know. In fact, you can even have a telephone number connected to your computer in which the IP address of your computer is hidden, or you can use an unlisted, untraceable phone to conduct business. This will help ensure your safety.

If you would like to work at home you will also need to watch out for home business scams. In order to avoid being taken aback by a company offering you a lucrative work-at-home opportunity you can watch out for a variety of attributes of that company’s promotions. For example, they may promise you unrealistic results in a very short time, such as “Make a Million Dollars in One Month”. Although this is possible, you need to read the find print to find out how much work you need to put into a business to reach that income bracket.

You also want to be wary of companies that place fake testimonials on their ads. The best way to know if their testimonials are fake is to try to research the names signed below the testimonials. You will also notice that many testimonials talk of too-good-to-be true results. If any opportunity seems as though it is unrealistic, chances are it is, or they are just not telling you the full cost of making those results happen.

Beware when jumping aboard any work-at-home opportunity. That warning applies to both freelance and direct hire home positions.

The question of free web hosting working for you is one that depends entirely on what use you want for your website. If you are new and just starting out in the Internet world, you’ll need to realize that there are many factors that play into choosing a web hosting service for your Internet site. Take the time to consider seriously these issues, and know that you’ll need to be fully prepared to step up to a paid web hosting service, or save your dollars for one that will be fully capable to meet your needs. Take a peek at some of the drawbacks of free web hosting services.

Free web hosting services might be able to work with your intentions of having one, such as for a personal web page, or a small business website. For example, say for that you want a site that shows a few pictures of you and your dog, and some written text, and then free web hosting services might just be a very good idea. On the other hand, if you are looking at selling dog care products, which always include lots of graphics, text and a shopping cart for ordering, you might just need to reconsider a free web hosting service. Remember, it all depends on what you want your website for, when you’re deciding on free web hosting.

It is true that a lot of free web hosting services offer the extras that you’ll need for a small business website, but what they don’t tell you is that many of extras offered are not that easy to use, and require some knowledge of HTML, and other types of formatting experience. Even if you do have experience, you’ll need to have the time to devote to keeping your site maintained, and fixing any problems that might arise on your site.

Don’t forget either that if you want to start up with an e-commerce site that you’ll want to expand in the future. Many times there are issues with how much space is available for uploading to a server your information for your website. You’ll need to know things like bandwidth and that free web hosting services usually offer very small amounts of transference of bandwidth on a monthly basis. Some free web hosting sites don’t have the option to add on for bandwidth, but more are offering this option. This limits you on how much graphics, and other CGI applications you can add to your website. CGI scripts include such things as guest books, and form scripts for emailing back to you for orders.

There are other issues, too, with free web hosting. Many times ads, banners and pop ups will automatically placed on your web site. You’ll need to think of the aesthetics and the fact that visitors to your site might be distracted and click on another web site, leaving you without a sell. In the Internet world of business, you only have a few seconds to capture your potential client’s attention, so please consider if you want these distractions on your site. Also, if you have an e-commerce site you’ll need to think too that you’ll not be able to add banner links to other popular sites, which will link you in popularity on the Internet, so others can visit you much more easily.

Issues such as network up time is important too, especially if you’re want an e-commerce website. In the past, free web hosting sites took a beating from customers on how often their site would be up and accessible to the Internet community. Today, there are still problems with some web hosting service providers, but it has improved. However in truth, nothing compares to a paid hosting company, and their ability to remain online with their servers running at fully capacity. If every time someone goes to your www address, and the web site is experiencing technical difficulties, you’ll loose clients by the bucket loads. Free web hosting companies are selling the space and bandwidth that they have left over, and often times their non-paying customers is not top priority.

These are just some of the issues that you’ll need to consider about free web hosting. In the end you’ll need to know exactly what you’ll be using your website for, and plan your web hosting with that thought in mind. It’s not that free web hosting services are bad; it’s just that they need to be used with the proper role in mind.

Budget Busters – Pitfalls to Avoid when Choosing Cheap a Cheap Web Host

If you want a website to proudly display on the Internet, it doesn’t matter if it’s an ecommerce website or a small personal one that lets the world know you love dogs, you’ll need to know some of the necessities for running one when choosing your web hosting company. After all if you’re going to all of the trouble to have one, you’ll want the most for your efforts. The fact is too, that if you don’t plan well then your budget for your website will soon be busted because of your lack of attention to detail with your web hosting company. So read on about a few tips that will help you save money and get your website up and running in no time.

Depending on what you want to do with your website will depend on what kind of web hosting service you need. Typically a small or medium sized website will be one that can include things such as a single sales letter, or maybe one or two brochures. Usually a small or medium sized website is no more than six to twenty pages. Standard packages of web hosting you can find on the Internet will likely cover what you need as far as disk space for transferring your information to web host server. Because you’re a small or medium sized website you’ll not require much bandwidth either, which dramatically shoots up the price for a website.

Also, shared web hosting service will most likely fit your need too. Price ranges for inexpensive web hosting with your static website will run from $60.00 to $100.00 per year. Remember, the great thing about web hosting is that if the standard package is good for you start out with, you can always expand to a new package when you need to. So, don’t skimp on a few dollars per year, pick a reliable web hosting service to begin with and grow gradually. Just pick a web hosting service that has lots of standard features, and you’ll be in great shape to begin your website with.

If you’re still feeling hesitant about choosing the right website hosting company, then know that the standard package provides about 60 MEG of disk space to begin with. You’ll need to sign a contract that will ensure that you can upgrade for a larger amount of disk storage space with your new web hosting company. If you’ve done your homework, and have chosen a company that is known as reliable and dedicated to customer service, then you can always switch.

Another issue that will bust your budget in a heartbeat is the use of bandwidth. Bandwidth is the amount of transference of data that you host allows you to process through your website for their servers. A sudden surge in your use of bandwidth can be expected as your popularity grows and during peak holiday times, such as Christmas. Bandwidth is usually calculated on a per month basis, and is usually it estimated in megabytes (MB), gigabytes (GB) in your contract per month. Six GB is normal for most static new websites.

To know what you’ll be using, as far as bandwidth is concerned, is almost impossible to begin with, and this is the time that you’ll need to know how much you need. To figure out what you’ll need there is a formula that you can use to determine bandwidth usage. All you need to do is just calculate your number of pages and page size and an average number of hits that you expect to get per day, and extrapolate that into a month’s time usage. If you find yourself going over, then your contract will easily accommodate your need to upgrade on your bandwidth. EBay, the world’s #1 online auction site has provided a part-time or fulltime source of income for many households all over the world. The process of selling items to anybody in part of the world has made this a huge phenomenon. Many have found a way to sell off their unwanted items and make some money out of it and many others may have found a way to buy items for low and sell high on EBay. Before EBay, lot of these unwanted items would end up as donations to Goodwill stores or trash if they do not sell on yard sales! Now, they have a way of making some money out it.

Some of them have teamed up with wholesalers and drop shippers to create a regular income and sell same or similar items like computer, electronics or furniture etc. over and over again. So, how do you maximize your income on EBay? Short answer would be BACKEND SALES! Did you notice that when you buy a burger at Burger King, McDonald or any other fast food joint, you always hear “Would you like some fries with it?” Have you noticed that at the check out counter of your local grocery store chain, they stack up gossip magazines, TV guides, Gums, Snickers etc.? These are low priced items that sell quickly when people have to stand in long lines.

Here are five unique ideas to maximize your income:

1. Whenever you sell an item, you get the email of the customer. Create a database of these customer contacts and send an email stating that you will be sending occasional information about great deals similar products in the future. It is best to use an auto responder. There are many free sources of auto responders or you can subscribe to a paid one. Whenever you list an item on EBay for sale, send an email to this list. Remember to add this line after your signature – “PS: Please forward this email anyone you know who might be interested”. Since you have a good reputation of being a very courteous and trustworthy seller, they will forward your email to their friends and relatives.

2. When you ship your item, always include a list of other similar items that you have for sale. This can get them interested in more items or they may mention it others.

3. If your product is an item that will be needed by the customer again and again (for example shipping package material), then it is good idea to contact them after a few months because the shipping material that you sent earlier would have been consumed by them and they may be looking to buy more. Offer some discounts on subsequent sales or offer free shipping. This will motivate them to buy more from you.

4. Here is a great idea that is used very effectively by many online business owners. These business owners use EBay to get a sales lead only. That’s all! For example a computer parts seller may sell over 100 memory stick for only $3.99 on EBay. All this person is trying to do is get a sales lead. Once the sale is made, they will send an email to mention about their website for future sales. Create a website for your products with a shopping cart. After you sell an item on EBay, send your buyer to your website. Buying directly from your website is profitable to you because you do not have to pay EBay fees. You can encourage the buyer to go your website by giving discount coupon and it will still work best for you because you are not paying any EBay fees.

5. Here’s another great idea for backend sales on EBay. You can sell related digital information products (eBook) along with the main item. An eBook works best here because you can offer it for cheap as there is no extra cost for additional sales and also the buyer has the satisfaction of downloading it immediately after payment is made. You can create your own eBook or buy resell rights to one or sell an affiliate product. You cannot list any other product or link on your EBay auction listing but you can in your “About Me” page. All members get to create “About Me” page. Once you create this page, a “me” icon will appear next to your username. In your “About Me” page, you can create links to your information product. Put the link to your “About Me” page in your auction listing. For example, you are selling golf items on EBay. You can create an eBook (or eBook with resell rights or affiliate eBook) about the improving your golf cut that can be sold for $7.95. In the auction ad, create a link to your “About Me” page where there is an ad for this eBook. The link to your “About me” page can read something like – “Want to improve your golf? Click here for some great tips!” This will lead the auction visitor to the “About Me” page and then to your eBook. The pricing of such digital product is very important! These are not the main item so the cost should be from $5 – 15. Remember “Would you like some fries with this?” Fries cost around $0.70 and that is why they sell quickly. Such backend sales are possible even if the visitor does not buy your main product on EBay and also you will not be paying EBay fees for the sale of the eBook!

This article provides some possible ways to increase your income on EBay. Keeping in contact with your customer is very important. People buy on EBay because of the credibility. There are thousands of new products and services website built everyday but people buy these products only from well established online stores like Amazon, Dell, and HP websites because they feel more comfortable. If not, they will buy from EBay because they get a chance to leave feedback on the seller. This is reason why new online business owners must open a business on EBay so they can also gain credibility from potential shoppers and encourage them to buy from their product website.
