Ever heard of affiliate programs? These are forms of Internet advertising that rewards the affiliates for driving traffic to the advertiser or for other transactions. The advertiser pays the affiliate to place a link on their website, and the affiliate sends traffic to the advertiser in return. Simply put, it’s about paying commissions to people who help you make sales. It’s that easy. NOT.

Affiliate marketing has its ups and downs. It could be draining if you are not armed with updated information and the technical how-tos. But this article’s sole objective is to reach out to you and not to badmouth affiliate marketing.

Here are the following reasons on why web marketers go gaga over affiliate marketing as a form of Internet advertisement.

1. Low cost

Many are scared to go on a home based business because of the capital required. In affiliate marketing, you don’t have to spend much to start raking in moolah.

2. Inventories not included

Product management fuss could be very stressing. An inventory is not asked to be maintained. The merchant does the maintenance required.

3. Unlimited income through leverage

When you have a paid job, your monthly income mainly relies on whether you go to work or not. With affiliate marketing, your affiliates could all just lead traffic to your site without having to lift a finger after providing them your ad copy and links. Though not every web marketer earns limitless, it still is a fact that all the necessary matters for the advertiser or Internet marketer are all there to be successful.

4. Go worldwide

With affiliate marketing, you are dealing with a global market place. All you have to do is choose a niche product and prepare all the necessary tools for your affiliates to lead traffic from just about anywhere to your website.

5. Low risk

The very main reason for Internet marketer’s enthusiasm with affiliate marketing is its having a low risk factor. Especially for those with low budget set aside for advertising, affiliate marketing is just the way to do it.

6. No closing time

With affiliate marketing, your business works every single second of the day while targeting a worldwide market! What could be better than that?

But all of these will be put to waste if you don’t have the right niche product and all the other important tools to make it big in affiliate marketing, i.e., well-SEO-ed website. So better work on this first before ever considering those benefits.

Easy Profits Using PPC In Your Affiliate Marketing Business

Affiliate Marketing, Advertising No Comments »

PPC is one of the four basic types of Search Engines. PPC is also one of the most cost-effective ways of targeted internet advertising. According to Forbes magazine, PPC or Pay Per Click, accounts to 2 billion dollars a year and is expected to increase to around 8 billion dollars by the year 2008.

Let us take a quick look at how PPC Search Engines work.

These engines create listings and rate them based on a bid amount the website owner is willing to pay for each click from that search engine. Advertisers bid against each other to receive higher ranking for a specific keyword or phrase.

The highest bidder for a certain keyword or phrase will then have the site ranked as number 1 in the PPC Search Engines followed by the second and third highest bidder, up to the last number that have placed a bid on the same keyword or phrase. Your ads then will appear prominently on the results pages based on the dollar amount bid you will agree to pay per click.

How do you make money by using PPC into your affiliate marketing business?

Most affiliate programs only pay when a sale is made or a lead delivered after a visitor has clickthrough your site. Your earnings will not always be the same as they will be dependent on the web site content and the traffic market.

The reason why you should incorporate PPC into your affiliate marketing program is that earnings are easier to make than in any other kind of affiliate program not using PPC. This way, you will be making profit based from the clickthroughs that your visitor will make on the advertiser’s site. Unlike some programs, you are not paid per sale or action.

PPC can be very resourceful of your website. With PPC Search Engines incorporated into your affiliate program, you will be able to profit from the visitor’s who are not interested in your products or services. The same ones who leave your site and never comes back.

You will not only get commissions not only from those who are just searching the web and finding the products and services that they wanted but you will be able to build your site’s recognition as a valuable resource. The visitors who have found what they needed from you site are likely to come back and review what you are offering more closely. Then they will eventually come back to search the web for other products.

This kind of affiliate program is also an easy way for you to generate some more additional revenues. For example, when a visitor on your site does a search in the PPC Search Engine and clicks on the advertiser bided listings, the advertisers’ account will then be deducted because of that click. With this, you will be compensated 30% to 80% of the advertisers’ bid amount.

PPC is not only a source of generating easy profits; it can also help you promote your own site. Most of the programs allow the commissions received to be spent for advertising with them instantly and with no minimum earning requirement. This is one of the more effective ways to exchange your raw visitors for targeted surfers who has more tendencies to purchase your products and services.

What will happen if you when you integrate PPC into your affiliate program?

PPC usually have ready-to-use affiliate tools that can be easily integrated into your website. The most common tools are search boxes, banners, text links and some 404-error pages. Most search engines utilize custom solutions and can provide you with a white-label affiliate program. This enables you, using only a few lines of code, to integrate remotely-hosted co-branded search engine into your website.

The key benefits? Not only more money generated but also some extra money on the side. Plus a lifetime commissions once you have referred some webmaster friends to the engine.

Think about it. Where can you get all these benefits while already generating some income for your site? Knowing some of the more useful tools you can use for your affiliate program is not a waste of time. They are rather a means of earning within an earning.

Best know more about how you can use PPC search engines into your affiliate program than miss out on a great opportunity to earn more profits.

    The Skinny on FFA pages

    Advertising No Comments »
    AddThis Social Bookmark Button

An FFA page is a free for all page. Its operation is very simple. You submit one line of text to the page and when other people see it, they pick up the link and go through to your page. The concept sounds very simple, and it would be if it actually did what you wanted it to do. Which is generate traffic consisting of interested buyers instead of generating a huge load of emails from people just like you who are trying to promote a product. The truth is that for most people, FFA pages have not produced the returns on income necessary for me to be able to recommend FFA’s as something you should put your money into with high expectations of return.

There are a number of reasons why this form of advertising has not promoted much for its users. First, your ad is one line among hundreds or thousands of one line ads. On top of this the few people who might see this page are the other advertisers who have submitted ads to this page, not shoppers looking for your product.

Another problem with FFA pages are they are usually designed to scroll. As new information is added the older information is advanced off of the page and out of sight. Before FFA pages were as popular as they are now, your line of advertising may have been visible for a day. That is why the FFA hosts had instructed you to submit your information to the FFA page daily. Today, now that FFA pages are a dime a dozen, your submission may be scrolled out in as little time as half an hour. This in turn means that you have to go and submit your information again and again throughout the day. However, you still have the first problem to deal with. People who look at FFA pages are there to sell, not buy.

A third problem with FFA pages are that sites known to advertise on them are in a number of instances either banned or ignored by the search engines. The search engines look at FFA pages as a page filled with irrelevant links, and whenever a search engine is aware of an FFA page it avoids that page whenever it can. The goal of search engines is to look for information/links that is highly regarded as helpful by other users, to pass on to their current users, and FFA pages produce links without producing the high quality information that the search engines are looking for. As a result, instead of giving you credit for your link, the search engines penalize URL’s that come from known FFA sites.

You see the people who run FFA pages are just a little bit ahead of the game than the FFA page submitter. The first thing you are asked to do on an FFA page is to register your email address. This way the user has your information and is able to promote his products to you at will. So the ones to benefit most from FFA pages are the ones who actually host the page.

So are FFA pages a waste of your time? Maybe they are, maybe they are not. If you go there as an advertiser, it may be a huge waste of time. But if you go there as the FFA site host, you may have just hit the jackpot. When FFA users sign up to post their information on your FFA site, you will advise them that when they post to the site they also have to agree to get emails from you as well. Herein lies your opportunity to promote, and herein lies the way you can probably take best advantage of using FFA pages and sites.

    Selecting newspapers for offline advertising

How To Select Newspapers That Will Yield The Best Results

Now that you have created an ad for your website, a page to collect subscribers and a system for following up with your potential customers, you have a system that will automatically collect, contact and follow up with your leads.

All you have to do now is send people to your signup page and the rest will take care of itself. In order to start up your lead cycle you will need to place your first ad.

In this article we are going to cover a tool you can use to effectively find, analyze and place classified ads in newspapers all over the country.

The first thing you need to know is that you should stick to placing ads in places with a population of over 200,000. This is to make sure that you can get a decent amount of actions to your advertisement because some newspapers serve a population of 20,000 and chances are the profits from an ad there (if any) will be very small.

The first thing you need to do is decide on a city. There isn’t any precise science to choosing a city other than making sure that it has over 200,000 people. You will also want to look at the newspaper online to make sure that it isn’t a primarily agricultural publication since that probably isn’t the demographic you want to hit.

So choose a city and then you want to go to the following website:

    The US Newspaper List
    http://www.usnpl.com/

This website is one of the most comprehensive listings of newspapers on the Internet and the best part is that it’s completely free.

    Crafting Your Eye Catching Ad

In this article you are going to learn the first step in the process of creating loads of profits from advertising your website in newspapers.

What is this first step you might ask?

An effective, curiosity provoking advertisement that gets people reading the paper to take action and visit your website.

To clarify, we are going to be using short, concise classified advertisements to generate leads. Yes, you will learn about using space advertising and longer ads in a later section but this is where you need to start.

Don’t worry, this isn’t something that requires you learn a bunch of copywriting tactics or complicated writing tricks. You just need to put yourself in the place of your prospect.

Let’s jump into this with an example.

Let’s say that you sell a book on how to have more fun boating while spending less money and you want to use the newspaper to get more people to your website.

You want to give a short and enticing headline that peaks enough interest to get people to your website, nothing more.

Instead of giving you a long-winded explanation or course on copywriting, I’ll give you a handful of examples you can steal and model to fit your product or service.

    Example #1

Learn Why I Have A Blast Boating Every Weekend And You Don’t! Free Newsletter.
    http://www.HaveMoreFunBoating.com

    Example #2

Secrets Ways To Boat More, Have More Fun & Spend Less Money. Free Report.

    Example #3

Do You Enjoy Boating? Learn How To Do It More Often & Have A Blast Doing It At This Free Website…
    http://www.HaveMoreFunBoating.com

As you can see from the examples above, it doesn’t need to be some long winded advertisement. Just something short, simple and crafted to generate some curiosity is all you need.

Do Banner Ads Still Work ?

    Advertising No Comments »
    AddThis Social Bookmark Button

Placing banner ads can be a highly effective way to market your business on the Internet. Banner ads are essentially advertisements which appear on a website, usually in the form of a combination of graphics and text, to encourage Internet users to click through these advertisements to your website. The most common form of banner ads is an advertisement which appears on the top of a website and spans the width of the webpage. These advertisements derived their name from the similarity to a banner but technically banner ads can come in a variety of shapes and sizes. This article will take a look at the effectiveness of banner as well as methods for placing these banner ads.

Banner ads can be highly effective if used properly. However, placing your banner ad all over the Internet with very little consideration to whether or not the location is likely to be beneficial to your business is not a good idea and can be a tremendous waste of money as well as other resources such as time and effort. Therefore business owners who are considering using banner ads to promote their business should spend some time to learn how to use banner ads effectively and to find ideal location for placing their banner ads.

The most ideal location for a banner ad is prominently displayed on a website which receives a great deal of website traffic and also complements your products and services well without providing direct competition for your products or services. As an example consider a business owner who specializes in selling athletic shoes specifically for runners. Buying banner ad space on a website which offers advice on training for running events and provides information on upcoming races would be an excellent idea. This website attracts visitors who have an interest in running and are likely to purchase athletic shoes but does not sell running shoes directly. This means the website attracts members of your target audience but does not compete for your business.

In addition to purchasing banner ad space, some business owners opt to join banner ad exchange groups. This is an alternative in which the business owner does not pay for their banner ad to be placed on another website but in exchange they agree to post one or more advertisements on their own website. This is a very affordable option for placing banner ads but it is not always the best strategy. This is because the business owner often has little input into where their banner ad appears and has limited input into the banner ads which appear on his website in return. In most cases, business owners have the ability to decline to host advertisements which they deem to be offensive but cannot specifically choose the banner ads they must post.

Finally, when posting banner ads, business owners should be aware of the effectiveness of the ads they place. They may choose to post different designs for their banner ad on different websites but they should monitor the results of their advertising to determine if one style is more effective than another. This information can be very important. If one style is enjoying a great deal of success while the other style is not, the business owner may wish to use the more successful style for all of their banner ads or to redesign the less successful style to make it more appealing to Internet users.

Try advertising your website in newspapers.

Placing ads in more newspapers and multiplying your success it’s important that you keep your focus. What I mean by this is that you need to make sure that you don’t slack off and stop monitoring your results.

This is a vital point when it comes to spreading your advertising reach to more newspapers at more cost because with all the of buzz going on around you with all of the new ads, it’s easy to neglect your analyzing of your results.

This can and has resulted in disaster for many people who have gotten lazy. If you fail to keep track of your response rates you can lose your success as quick as you gained it.

Doesn’t it make sense that you invest the time checking on your results now that you have enough success to start spreading your advertising everywhere? This is the deciding factor between success and failure. The person who continually monitors everything they are doing and keeps close track of every advertising dollar is the person who sees their business explode.

Make sure you understand this because if you keep tabs on what’s going on in your advertising efforts your business will grow at astronomical rates. Think about it, your going from just a few papers to dozens and eventually hundreds which will multiply your income by dozens or hundreds of times!

Here’s a quick and efficient system for taking your advertising across more newspapers and being safe and precise while doing it:

    1) Determine how much profit you have available to place advertising in addition to your already running and successful ads. This means you use the profit calculations you learned in a previous section and determine your profit. You then place as many ads as your profit permits you to place.

    2) Make sure that you follow the advise to setup a separate domain for each ad, a separate tracking link for each ad and a separate mailing list for each ad.

    3) Closely monitor and analyze the results of the ads that you’ve placed while making sure to give the ad 14 days after it stops running before you calculate and final profit calculations. Make sure to keep close tabs on your current successful ads to make sure that they are still pulling a profitable response.

    4) After the two weeks have passed, use the “Analyzing Results & Determining Profitability” section to help you determine all of your results and profit calculations.

    5) Start back at step 1.

This is the simple cycle you can use to take your advertising reach all over the nation across hundreds of newspapers without spending any money out of your own bank account and while making sure that you get every last penny you can out of each ad.

This system is simple but important because if you get lazy and stop tracking, testing or analyzing profits, you could lose your shirt. The great thing about this system is that after you get used to testing, tracking and keeping track of all of your advertising campaigns it will start to come as second nature.

Did You Go Broke With Adwords?

    Advertising No Comments »
    AddThis Social Bookmark Button

Many people marketing a business on the Internet have heard of Google AdWords at one point or another. You can do certain things to make Adwords profitable. Consequently, you can nearly lose your shirt as well if you lack a solid understanding of AdWords & how it really works.

Google is all about relevancy. Google places a huge emphasis on this for their users and this is a key central concept in understanding.

You can avoid getting charged $5 or $10 for a click if you take some precautionary but often necessary steps.

    1. Create an ad campaign that closely matches similar keywords.

For example, you sell dog grooming hair brushes.

Your initial thought may be to bid on keywords like “pet” and “pet supplies.” Google considers these as general keywords. People looking for dog grooming hair brushes will not most likely look for “pet supplies.”

The person looking for a dog grooming hair brush already knows what he or she wants. You want your ad to target that person directly and your conversation rates will increase.

Group and bid on keywords like “dog grooming supplies,” “dog grooming brushes,” and “dog grooming hair brushes.” Each of these keyword phrases has one thing in common: the phrase “dog grooming.” These are relevant. Make sure each keyword in each ad group has one common word or phrase.

    2. Make sure the body copy contains keywords.

When you write the actual copy for your ads, you need to have the keywords you bid on written into the ad.

This helps driver laser focused traffic to your site, Google rewards you by having a higher position for lower cost, your ad is shown more and you please the Google users because you provide exactly what they are looking for.

(Hint: The name of the game is relevancy).

    3. Put your keyword in the Adwords ad headline, body and display URL address.

When someone searches for a specific keyword, all the listings that contain that keyword, whether it is in the metatags, in the name of the web address or in the headline, are bolded to make it stand out to the searcher.

In this way, everyone wins. The user gets exactly what they searched for. Google wins because that user will return again due to his satisfaction. And ultimately, you benefit from it because you potentially gained a new subscriber or customer and that means cash in your pocket in the end.

    4. Create a landing page for each keyword you bid on.

One of the tricks to getting higher relevancy and higher quality scores in Google’s mind is to drive traffic to very specific landing pages.

Each keyword you bid on should be slightly altered so when someone clicks on your ad, they still see the same keyword or something very similar to it in the headline and in the body of your copy on your website.

For example, you search for “dog trainers in Seattle.” You see an ad that says “Dog Trainers in Seattle.” You think to yourself this is exactly what you wanted. You click on the ad to go to the website.

The first thing you read on the web site is “3 Dog Trainers In Seattle Reveal Shocking Secrets that Show You How You Can Fix The Top 10 Most Common Dog Problems Without Having To Pay $1000s In Consultation Fees…All From The Comfort Of Your Own Home.”

This website tells you exactly what you are looking for. Fido has some problem you want to fix but yet you are on a budget. And you want someone you can go to locally, not someone who is based out of Atlanta, Georgia.

    Advertising with poor results online?

    Advertising No Comments »
    AddThis Social Bookmark Button

Have you spent money on advertising online only to be left with little, or worse, no results?

Don’t feel bad, it’s happened to all of us.

The truth is, advertising on the Internet is becoming less and less effective every day. Why?

Because more people are starting online businesses and there is more competition when buying advertising. This drives up advertising rates and decreases response because so much more advertising is being served to the audience.

Another thing that is actually destroying much of online advertising is the black market that tries to exploit every advertising method using shady tactics.

This can be software that generates thousands of garbage pages in order to get high search engine rankings or publishers just overselling and over publishing advertisements to their list putting more money in their pocket while decreasing response for the advertiser.

The truth is, when advertising online; it’s like a battlefield when trying to choose an online advertising method an even harder task to make it a profitable purchase.

Now, don’t get me wrong, there are still many ways to generate traffic and make money with your website but they are becoming more and more expensive every day. This is making it impossible for the working Joe or Jane to have any kind of buying power, which almost eliminates the potential profitability that these advertising methods could have.

Another big obstacle that is affecting almost all online advertisers and business people is what is called “The Google Dance”. This is what the constant barrage of changes to the Google Ranking Algorithm is called. An algorithm is a set of criteria that web pages are judged by which gives them a high or low ranking in the Google search engine.

Google’s pay per click program, Adsense is also becoming a much harder place to do business in. There are big corporations that are seeking out people that don’t have deep pockets and out bidding them on all of their key terms and getting all of their traffic. After a few days or few weeks, the little guy they are outbidding is out of business.

Google has also done it’s own changes to weed out people that don’t have large amounts of money. Recently, they raised all of the minimum bids on people bidding on niche terms and directing them to a lead capture page to $5 a click.

So someone getting 100 visitors a day and paying 5 cents a click was spending $5 a day on traffic but after this change they were instantly paying $500 a day for traffic! This turned thousands of profitable websites and businesses unprofitable at lightning speed and put many people out of business.

So what can we do to still be able to get a nice share of business and make enough money to not only succeed but also continually grow with all of these big sharks out there?

You need an advertising method that isn’t overrun with big companies with deep pockets and scoundrels trying to exploit backdoors and loopholes that make the advertising ineffective.

    Try advertising your website offline
