Affiliate Marketing Program Pitfalls

Even though affiliate marketing is an excellent way
to earn money, there are several pitfalls that you’ll
need to be aware of. As long as people have been
earning money, people have also tried to figure out
how to earn more by doing a lot less.

All you need to do is a quick online search for
“work from home” or “making easy money”. You’ll
instantly find millions of websites, simply click
on a few and you’ll notice that they all start off
the same. You’ll see a guy with a big house and
a lot of money saying if you sign up, this could be
you – how far from the truth!

The only way you can earn a good, stable income is
to put in the hard work it takes. Before you join
any affiliate program, you need to do the proper
research. That’s one of the best benefits of the
internet – finding the information you need.

All you need to do is search for the name of the
affiliate program that your intested in, adding
the word scam to it and see what pops up. You
should also join some work from home forums, and
don’t be afraid to ask the right questions.

There are a few ways that you can tell what
program is most likely a scam. If a program
doesn’t tell you their compensation plan unless
you sign up, watch out. A lot of programs won’t
tell you what you’ll be doing unless you buy a
kit for a set price.

With any program, there should always be 100% free
disclosure. You’ll need to know what you are
going to be doing before you even start. If a
program doesn’t tell you what you are going to be
doing or if you have to pay money first, you
should avoid it.

RESPECT + CREDIBILITY = HAPPIER CUSTOMERS & HIGHER PROFITS

When creating products for profit, think about the questions posed by Randy
Charack in Chapter 2 of “The E-Code: 33 Internet Superstars Reveal 43 Ways to
Make Money Online Almost Instantly—Using Only Email” by Joe Vitale.

“Would you rather pay a little more money and get a lot more? or
pay a little less and get a lot less?”

He goes on to explain:

“If the product you are considering buying is designed to make you
more money, and you will make a lot more money because of the
built-in extras and the added bonuses, you will be happy to pay a
little bit more. Right?”

The idea here is based on the following equation:

RESPECT + CREDIBILITY = HAPPIER CUSTOMERS & HIGHER
PROFITS

The easiest way to illustrate this is with a few examples. Consider the following:

Digital Product A
An ebook consisting of a 10 page .exe file (this can only run on a
Windows PC and cannot be printed)
Looks like good information with a short sales letter
Product sells for $27

Digital Product B
An ebook consisting of a 10 page .PDF file (this can be run on
Windows PCs and Mac’s)
2 additional ebooks illustrating points made in the ebook (value
over $100)
2 pieces of software that can be used to implement the ideas in the
ebook (value over $100)
Looks like good information with an acceptable sales letter, and
pictures of the bonuses
Product sells for $47

Which product would you rather purchase? Even if the ebooks are identical,
Digital Product B will likely sell a lot more copies, even though the price is higher,
because of the perceived value. You are showing your readers respect by
providing them time saving extras! You are also saving them money as well.

Of course, your site will also need to establish your credibility by providing
testimonials and backing up your major claims, but you would have done this with
either product. By adding the element of “Respect” for your customers, you make
them happier and earn yourself higher profits in return!

So, how can you apply the equation to your own info products? Well, when
deciding what product to create and what content to include in the product,
remember to show your reader “Respect”.

Also remember that you need to add “Credibility” to the equation by providing a
sound basis for your assertions in your ebook. You will also want to establish
“Credibility” through your presentation of the ebook itself as well as through your
website. Provide testimonials; back up your claims, etc. When you put Respect
and Credibility together, you will have a Happier Customer, and that will provide
you with Higher Profitability.

There are a number of ways that you can make money providing information to
people online. One of the most profitable ways to do that is to create your own
info product and to maximize it’s profitability by combining it with other people’s
products.

Which One is More Important – Product or Mailing List?

If you would ask this question, “Which one is more important – the mailing list or the product?” any savvy marketer would answer you, “The mailing list”.

Principally, any wise business person puts the importance of hungry demand (and not just any demand) in front of the product. In other words, there is no product if there is no demand! And a mailing list represents the demand or your business if you would like to call it.

If you frequent the Joint Venture forums and membership sites of any kind, you will find that product and service owners need mailing list owners more than the other way round. This is because the mailing list owners have the prospects that the other type of partner is looking for to sell to.

And if you are a mailing list owner, you do not have to necessarily make money from selling your own product. You can sell advertising space or craft a Joint Venture with product owners in return of commissions, recurring or not.

Most of the biggest success web businesses on the Internet today often establish the mailing list (or subscribers) first before the product. One fine example is Friendster.com.

Friendster.com, in the nutshell, is a website that connects friends and potential friends from around the world through a free membership access.

While Friendster.com does not make money from the number of members who join the site, the business makes money from selling advertising space and partnering with other big time merchants and businesses, owing to the established number of members Friendster.com has recruited.

This business is perfect example that demonstrates why every business should establish a need or demand before the product itself, and why you should do the same, whether you run a friends site or not.

Eight Essential Tips about Blogging

Blogging No Comments »

This is a quick guide for all of those people who want to learn how to blog. You can be a successful blogger if you follow one or more of the eight following tips:

Make your entries as current as possible. If at all possible, you will want to make sure that you do enough research to find the latest information possible about whatever you choose to write about.

In some cases it is fine to have references to past events, as long as you can make a way to connect those events to the present. It depends upon the subject matter and the reason you are writing what you are writing.

Know the purpose of your blogs. You need to know the purpose of your blog. For instance, you may be writing to help others know how to make a certain craft project. You may also want to present original recipes that you have made, or you may want to have a blog that makes commentaries on current events. Whatever the reason is for your blog you need to know what that reason is.

Make your entries reader friendly. You will want to write your blogs in a conversational manner that is easy to read. These entries need to be relatable, and something that your readers can understand.

Keep your entries short. Your blog entries need to be as short as possible. Usually about 3-400 words are appropriate for most. They are short because they are usually designed for quick view.

Organize your entries well. The entries of your blog should be organized well. This means that they should be presented on your blog site in a way that readers can easily find them again. In addition, the thought that is written in each blog entry should be organized enough that the reader would know what you are talking about.

Edit your entries. The entries that you list should be free from grammatical and spelling errors. In addition, these entries should be spaced properly. Usually each paragraph is single spaced with one extra space in between paragraphs.

Make them search engine accessible when possible. The entries that you create will need to be search engine ready. This means that you would add articles on the page that contain as close to the keywords that are relevant to your page as possible. This will take you some time and research if you want to make sure to use keywords that are not as competitive. Overture and Word tracker are great tools to use for t his.

Make your blogs interesting enough. All blog entries should appeal to your primary audience. Also you are advised to constantly think of new material that would attract unique (first time) visitors to your site.

You will also need to promote your site in as many ethical ways as possible. For example, you will want to ping other URLS, which means that they will know of new entries that are being displayed on your blog site.

You will also want to place your blog in as many directories as possible, and even submit it to search engines. It may take awhile to be able to increase your page rank. However, every extra effort that you put into it will really help you quite a bit.

One other aspect of blogging not mentioned above is that appearance matters. The graphics and layout of your blog pages, along with your images should fit with the subject of your blog.

When you create blogs you will find that most blog sites are very easy to construct. Usually you just pick the colors and design out of already made templates and just fill in the text where you are told to do so.

The reason many people like to create blogs is to help increase traffic to their site. In addition, they like to create them because they are moneymaking tools. In fact, people can even make money building free blog sites as well.

How it works is that people place ads on their blog sites, which people click on. The money is usually either earned from the clicks on these ads or from commission earned through an ad link that was on a particular blogging site.

When you are trying to make money off of the articles on your website, it is important to effectively promote your site so that you will attract customers and they can see just what a good, quality site you have. There are several ways so market and promote your website, one of them being though banner advertisements.

What Banner Ads Can Do For You

Banner ads can help bring visitors from others sites to your own. Although monthly fees can be expensive to advertise on high traffic sites, in the end it may be cheaper and/or a faster way to start seeing significant revenue from your website efforts, rather than waiting for SEO techniques to bring your own site to the top of search engine results. Aside from paying to advertise on someone else’s site, there are also free banner exchanges to choose from. We will look at the pros and cons of each banner advertising method below.

Free Banner Exchanges

Free banner exchanges are when you and other sites exchange each others banners. Their banner will go on your site and your banner will go one their site. Although this option is free, there are two main problems with it. First, if you want your banner on a significant number of sites, it will mean cluttering your own site up with these banners. This could even shot you in the foot if you run an affiliate website because, instead of clicking on your affiliate links, your visitors may be clicking on your banner exchange links. Secondly, you have to be really careful about the types of sites that you exchange banners with. Some sites like to gather a lot of banners so that they can be a directory or portal site and not have to have any real content. These “banner farms” or “link farms” will do nothing positive for your site and, in the meantime, you will be bringing them potential traffic.

Paid Banner Ads

As we saw above, paid banner ads cost money, but they will eventually pay off if you choose the right ones. You need to ensure that the site produces the amount of traffic that they say and that they have your ad placed in a way that invites visitors to click without being too pushy. You also want to choose a site that does not house too many other banners on the same page as yours or that there are no competitor links on the same page.

All in all, banner ads can end up being profitable for you site if you go about it the right way. If you do decide to check out banner advertisement as a marketing avenue, be sure to keep the above tips in mind.

Why You Need Affiliate Programs

Internet marketing is such a large business today, and there are a so many varied chances for the online business to grow, that often it’s hard to find your way through. It is difficult for anyone just entering the world of online commerce to know what is and isn’t successful. The reading and research needed to develop a good online business strategy is so daunting that some people find it easier to just give up. There is one method of earning money online that takes little effort and has been proven to work. That is what this article is about.

This section concerns the online merchant selling products or services. Whatever amount of time you have been in business, the main thing you must accomplish is getting customers to visit your website. This is where affiliate programs enter the picture. The way it works for the seller of products or services is this: you sign up for an affiliate program, others sign up and place ads for your site somewhere on their site. They send you leads and you pay them for the leads. The wonderful thing about these programs is you only pay for the actual leads from the affiliate. Keep in mind that the person with nothing to sell will want to make money so will work harder to promote you. In this way, you will both benefit.

For the person who doesn’t have a product to sell there are unique benefits to signing on as an affiliate. First, you will be giving your visitors a chance to visit the merchant. You earn money by promoting your site, and then convincing visitors to go to the merchant. You earn money for the amount of leads or sales accomplished by your efforts. In addition, you have the chance to increase this traffic by having others advertise your site. Granted, you will end up paying these people to promote your site, but the rewards are well worth the money spent.

Affiliate programs are quite simple and inexpensive to run. Their business consists of generating customers for all of their members. For this reason, it is normally cheaper, and takes less effort, for you to sign onto an affiliate program than it would be for you to attempt to start your own affiliate program. In addition, with the large number of people these affiliate programs have signed up, you are in a position to reach a larger area of the market than you could ever accomplish by going it alone.

If you are an affiliate marketer who wants to make a comfortable living from referring your prospects to other people’s product or service for decent commissions, then you must consider building your own mailing list.

Building your mailing list of hungry prospects can be one of the best investments you will ever make, as it is time and effort worth spending on. When you strike on a Joint Venture and have a new product or service to endorse, you can look no further than your own mailing list.

Granted, that most affiliates, as in more than 90 percent of them, are not making money from affiliate programs, but this often results from the same amount of effort focused on least effective methods.

While having your own mailing list is, by a long mile, not the only effective affiliate marketing method, you can make affiliate sales very quickly even in the next few hours after sending a sales message, provided that your mailing list is huge and responsive.

This is often true, because owning your own mailing list for you to endorse products and services to is one of the fastest-producing results, beating other affiliate marketing methods imaginable.

In a nutshell, the affiliate marketer who gets ahead of the pack is the one who owns a huge and responsive mailing list of prospects.

Purchasing Private Label Rights to Save Work

A quick way to get some articles circulating at article sites is by purchasing ones with private label rights. You will need to do some work to these before you submit them.

Understand that other people are purchasing the same private label rights. When several people submit identical articles, each listing themselves as the author, it becomes a problem. Your need to make your private label articles unique.

In most cases, buying these articles allows you to change them in any way you please. It is your choice whether to do a total rewrite or you can just change a few things that will make it different from what the other owners of the same articles have.

Change titles and subtitles completely. Don’t change their meaning, just the wording. Make sure the headline still tells readers what the article is about, just say it in a different way.

Next, change the first and last paragraphs. Again, keep the original meaning of the paragraphs, just change the wording. Just changing a few words in each sentence can make all the difference. Making these changes will only take a couple of minutes. Replace one word with another one that exactly the same meaning as the original word.

Change links that appear in the article. Use your own affiliate links, or even with product links if want, just as long as the links you are placing in the content still fits with the content you are good to go.

Finally, read the article through. Is there anything that you would normally word differently, or even say better? If so, change the wording to your own. With the above changes, the article is an original and no longer just a private label rights one!

Dropped Blog Rankings in Google? Try these Methods to Cushion the Impact

Search Engine Optimization and SEO No Comments »

Google is the most popular and most used search engine that is used in this day and age. Therefore, it is important that your Blog have a good Google page rank. Page Rank, or PR, is one of the methods Google uses to determine the relevance or importance of a website or Blog. Page Rank is a vote, by all the other Web pages on the Internet, about how important a website is. A link to a website counts as a vote of support. If there are no incoming links to a website, then there is no support. Many have come to rely on the ease of Google’s toolbar and page rank. When your Blog has a good ranking it results in the increase of your visitors. Have you dropped Blog rankings in Google? Try these methods to cushion the impact.

The best way to do this is to submit your Blog link to as many Blogs as possible. The most popular methods is usually submitting your Blog link to Blog directories. There are millions of directories that you can submit your website to and they are mainly free for you to submit to.

Another method is link exchange. Link exchange is where you add a Blog link to your Blog and they will add your link to their Blog. This is usually occurs by a agreement by you and the webmaster or owner of the other Blog. This is a good way of increasing link popularity. There are Blogs out there that make link exchange easy and free. Usually if someone likes your Blog they will usually tell someone one about it and recommend it to them or put you on their Blogroll. The best thing is when a person owns a Blog and they want to tell the visitors of their Blog to go see yours. All of this can become a small snowball that grows into boosting your page rank.

A Blog hit counter is one way to keep track of the amount of visitors that read your blog. Blog hit counters are usually small boxes at the very end of a web page that updates a number every time your site is hit. Some blog-hit counters can give site owners site statistics, reports and graphs to illustrate blog activity. These counters can also show you where your readers are finding your site. If your blog-hosting site does not offer a blog hit counter feature, one can easily be downloaded or added to your page from another site. There are many free sites that offer counters for blog pages. Blog writers can register on the hit counter site, download and install directly into the blog template. This will give an accurate count of how many visitors you have to your blog. If you are not worried about keywords or details information about your readers, then a blog-hit counter is the easiest way to track your readership. If you want more advanced blog features, then you can add tracking options to your blog.

There are several ways you can track your readers. One is by keywords and the other is a visitor tracker. Keyword trackers are ideal for those who need to know what keywords people are using to locate a blog. This could be important for businesses that need to reach potential consumers. A good keyword tracker can also help you organize your blog site to determine which keywords are most popular with readers. It can also help get your site listed on search engines. Keyword trackers can be downloaded for free in many cases. If your site relies heavily on readers, then a keyword tracker could be a good choice. A visitor tracker works much the same way as a keyword tracker. The difference, however, is that a visitor tracker will provide you with information statistics about your blog visitors. When a visitor enters your blog site, their information is saved onto the visitor tracker. When you are ready, you can log in and see exactly who your visitors are. Many times not only are you able to see the statistics on your readers, but you can also see reports for current visitors and those that have visited the site in the past. One other way that a blog writer can keep track of their readers is to include a comment section at the end of your blog page. Not all visitors will want to leave a comment, but this is a good way to gain feedback about your site. You will better understand the type of readers that frequent your site, but also understand the kind of content that they want to read.

Develop a better understanding of your Blog and your readers. Do this along with dedicating time in to optimization and networking and your dropped Blog rankings will begin to turn around.

Defining the RSS Feed – Does it feed a Blogger’s Popularity?

Blogging No Comments »

Using an RSS feed is not necessary the answer to all prayers; however in the blogging world it can really help. People who use RSS feeds can increase their website popularity.

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It is an XML formatted file that sends you content based on you preferences. The most common use of an RSS feed file is for news feeds. You can have news automatically displayed for you. This is the case with blogs as well.

The use of RSS will allow people to automatically subscribe to a blog and they will receive new posts via e-mail or news aggregator. RSS gives a person access to the latest posts as they are published.

In order for a person to start using RSS feeds from a site a person needs a news aggregator. This is a place where a person can go to in order to check for the latest news, blog, entries and more. Another name for a news aggregator is a newsreader. Those who have chosen a newsreader will then be able to read RSS feeds of all kinds.

There are different kinds of aggregators that read RSS feeds. Some are web-based such as Bloglines or “My Yahoo!”. Some of them are desktop based, such as Awasu, FeedDemon, and Newsfire.

It is important to remember also that different feeds work better on different operating systems. Therefore, you have to choose the ones that will work best for your computer (Windows, Linux, Mac, etc.).

RSS feeds are useful in helping a user decide what they want to see or don’t want to see. Therefore, if a user signs up to an RSS feed of your blog you will know that they have chose to receive new blog entries from you. It is automatic, and you do not need to worry about spam in this case.

RSS feeds have become so popular that they have become an alternative way to communicate on a mass level. They are considered now a more important way to communicate than e-mail for the purpose of marketing. Obviously, e-mail is still very important, but for marketing and large communication purposes, RSS feeds are considered a better way to go.

You can create your own RSS feeds to use. Information is available regarding these by searching online. In short, most feeds require three main bits of information, which are the title, description, and the link. These bits of information are embraced between XML tags, which look very similar to HTML tags.

Once you have created RSS feeds for your blog site, you will also want to make those feed files known to the world. You can place them not only on your blog site (many of them have these feeds automatically), but you can also submit them to RSS directories.

The downside of RSS feeds is it is one more thing that it requires for a user to know. Not everyone knows about RSS feeds yet. Therefore, if you are going to use one on your blog site you will want to consider giving people some brief directions about how to use it. In addition, you may want to add links of popular feed readers that people can use to access the feeds either by desktop or browser.

If you are making a blog site and you want to attract visitors RSS feeds can benefit you in many ways. Moreover, you will be providing a great service for all those who are able to read feeds on their computer.

One other tip that you may want to keep in mine while you use feeds is this: you will want to make sure that these feeds are available in a variety of different formats. For instance, you may want to be able to reach people on OS operating systems, or Linux. In order to find out what the requirements to making feeds for these operating systems you will need to find out which ones will work for these.

Another popular use of RSS feeds is the practice of podcasting. This is the use of casting over the Internet with the use of files that can be played either in an iPod or an MP3 player. Two popular MP3 players include Real One and Windows Media Player. Of course, iPod you know is a podcasting device, and similar derivatives to it are available.
