Creating Your Internet Marketing Plan
Internet Marketing Articles January 24th, 2010For large businesses, a marketing plan is some crazy large document that states all their strategies they will use throughout the year. These elements are key to the success and money making strategy of the business. Large businesses have huge marketing teams that have all their time into doing this type of work. They spend endless hours on competitor analysis and how to improve revenue for the company.
Do these things really matter to the small businessperson who has not inquired about a loan? Not really, but you should have some marketing plan that will help your business on a small-scale level that improves profit. This can be a valuable tool to redefine your focus. If you don’t plan, then you lack intention and attention to your own site. You don’t want to go crazy and think you are some huge company with thousands of employees. You can create a micro-plan to help make your business better.
Ask yourself some important questions. You want to know your purpose for being online other than money. That one is a given. You should want to create awareness about something that is important to you and you enjoy. If you wanted to work in misery, you would not be considering being your own boss. Give something of your knowledge back to the public and make them love it as much as you do. Be passionate about what you say and write for them and show them that you have confidence in this endeavor and so should they. This will create the sales you need to keep going. The more money you make the more time and resources you will have to put back into it. Always give the customers more than they ask for. You want them to return and buy again. The best way to ensure sales is to give the customer what they want. In this market is never about you and your needs, it is about the people purchasing what you have.
Be a part of a community with the people you want to do business with is also important. Join the groups they congregate in and put your site link in your signature. You want to be able to be a friend that provides advice and helps out. Speak to your friends and gain their trust. This will ensure that they will listen to your recommendations and will trust your instincts on this topic. The point is to make sure the people that are buying from you are not just buyers but trusted friends. They will be the ones who bring you the most business. Word of mouth is the most powerful tool you have and is the hardest to get. You have to be very true to what you believe in and give to others with out expectation. This will let others in your community know that you are real and a person. This is what generates business on a source that is so impersonal. Other questions to ask your self are as follows.
What percent of your overall marketing will be done online?
How much time do you expect to spend and dedicate to marketing on the Internet?
What strategies are you willing to use to succeed?
Will you invest in your own business and yourself?
Will you have contests to get consumers?
Will you join a forum that is relevant and become apart of their community? Can you offer some advice and friendship?
Are you willing to invest in e-books or reports in your related field? Whether this cost money or time?
Will you subscribe to newsletters that give you the latest on your business genera? Will you be willing to make your own newsletters for free to sends to your consumers that will inform them?
Are you willing to invest in Pay Per Click advertising?
Will you make and distribute banners or post other’s banners on your site?
Will you be willing to provide, either yourself or paying for, content articles that attract people to your site and make them want to buy?
If you are willing to do what it takes to be successful then set up a plan. Assign a date to get all the things you need in order. If you want to succeed at business, you must invest and put time into your self. Give yourself the credit you are due. Your persistence and loyalty will pay off in success.
