Adsense Placement On Your Blog

Adsense, Blogging No Comments »

When deciding whether to incorporate Adsense into your blog there are several factors to consider. Many feel that it diminishes their brand, whilst others see it as a useful tool for visitors which creates revenues and makes their content profitable.

The choice can largely come down to the commercial goals and the purpose of your blog. Many businesses who sell products decide to place Adsense adverts within their blog. This would appear to be a strange choice, opening up opportunities for rivals to promote their service or product to your potential customer base.

Many publishers claim that they are only doing this to allow companies who provide ancillary services to advertise. These claims have some merit, as those who for example sell pillows could provide those who sell bedding with an opportunity to advertise.

Although this would make sense, there are still those online retailers who allow rivals to penetrate their audience. Many claim that there are still benefits in allowing your direct competitors to advertise within your blog. One of these is that ultimately if visitors wish to see your competitors they would be able to see them through a Google search regardless. This may be true however the thought of an established brand like coco-cola having a Pepsi advert in their blog is not even a possibility.

Another factor which is considered in this situation is that publishers do not feel that Adsense is effective in making conversions. They feel that visitors who would click on adverts are not highly qualified customers, as they would quickly navigate to the materials or products that interest them if they were.

Despite Adsense being a questionable choice for online retailers, it is surely a good supplementary service for other varieties of online publishers. For example, a blog which provides a free service like dictionary.com gets high levels of traffic, and is able to make their service profitable through adsense. This has been the case for Bloggers who originally provided content free of charge, being unable to reach the scale that is necessary to contract with advertisers directly.

This could also apply to other previously free services, including wider forms of information broadcast, and news for example. In 2006 a man who later published a selection of Videos claims to make $19,000 a month through adsense, claiming that he was also contacted through Google to help him increase the CTR (Click Through Rate) that he achieved. The thought of success like this has been a major factor in stimulating online publishers to opt for Adsense.

Many publishers also claim that adsense makes their blog look more professional. Those who are able to contract with advertisers are generally seen to provide a service with large appeal, and therefore those unfamiliar with the program may feel that the Adsense advertiser is in this position.

Adsense however, is also aligned with those publishers who use the service purely to provide links to adverts. Everyone has done a Google search, clicked on an Adwords advert and came into a blog which reads top ten resources on… This is a major problem, as is generally something that surfers find frustrating. If people see that it says adverts by Google, and they then see adverts by Google on another site, they may align that site with consumer unfriendly practices. This is therefore an issue which Google has to address, to maintain Adsense as a reputable service.

Regardless of the disadvantages and the blogs for which the service may be inappropriate it is still a useful tool for blog visitors. Those who visit a blog, and click on a link provide revenues for the publisher, whilst those who provide free services are able to generate revenue.

The only fear that Google has, is that rival PPC programs offer better deals to publishers and they decide to go elsewhere, therefore taking advertisers with them. However, ultimately it is best for advertisers and publishers if they largely remain in same PPC circuit.

Use Press Releases in Your Internet Marketing Program

If you’ve ever felt reluctant to submit a press release because you weren’t sure how to write an effective release, pay attention to the following advice. Writing a good press release is simpler than you may think.

A good press release is essentially a good news story. Any time your business releases a new product or does anything newsworthy you should create a press release to tell the world about it. The press release will be welcomed by journalists and internet writers whose job it is to educate and inform. They will either use your press release intact or use it as the basis for an article that they will write about your news and your company. The result? Publicity, credibility, and a stream of customers.

Therefore, you’ll want to write as many press releases as you can. A good press release can be more valuable than an advertisement, generating more potential customers.

The elements of a good press release include three essential parts, the headline, the introduction, and the body. It is recommended that you put a lot of thought and attention into the headline. It should be informative and make the reader want to learn more. The introduction is short and interesting The body contains all of the who, what, where, why and when answers that a good news story requires. Since good news stories are people centered, these elements should be focused on the people aspect of the story.

Take care that the press release is timely, relating to something that has just occurred. It should also be brief and to the point, around 400 to 500 words in length. Be sure that the grammar and the spelling are standard and correct or else the press release will not be published. Lastly, make certain that the press release is factual and truthful.

It’s a good idea to keep the paragraphs of the body short, about three or four sentences in length. This length will make the press release easier to read. Also, it is wise not to send extra material such as photos with the press release. If photos are important they can be posted on a website which is referenced in the body of the press release.

A couple of additional elements are commonly included at the end of good press releases. A short “about us” section provides some background information about your business and yourself. Some media contact information gives your contact person the information they need to be able to contact you.

The press release traditionally should close with the symbol, “###,” which signifies that it is complete.

Link exchange programs: the barometer of online success

Search Engine Optimization and SEO No Comments »

Link exchange not only increases visibility, it gives you competitive advantage. Find out how this can work for your website.

The density of links on your site is a crucial indicator of your site page ranking and popularity online. This is why most websites pay a great deal of money to subscribe to maximum number of link exchange programs available.

Search Engines

Most of the popular search engines are always in need of sites populated with high quality and associated links. They tend to track down sites that have such links almost instantly. It’s because search engines have robots or spiders that crawl websites and index the ones with the best link exchange programs on them. Then automatically such sites get to enjoy better page ranking and placement online.

Page Rankings

Page rankings are an indicator of the popularity of your website online. The higher your page rank, the better the placement and hence more traffic influx. You can greatly enhance your website’s page ranking online via good quality link exchange programs. There are plenty of such programs available these days that provide you with high quality links relevant to your site.

Sharing is profitable

Reciprocal linking offers a great way to improve the density of links to your site. There are many partners easily accessible these days that will provide you with associated and high quality links onto your site. The way it works is that you provide them with a set of links and they in turn provide you access to their link exchange programs. By exchanging links with each other, you get to improve the density of quality links on your site.

One-way inbound links

If you wish to attract more traffic inward and don’t want to redirect to another site, it makes sense to have more one-way links on your site. Through one-way link exchange programs, you get to focus the primary attention on your own website, without allowing visitors to navigate to some other sites.

Paid might be better

Many people are misled into thinking that it is better to go for free link exchange programs as opposed to paid ones. However, when subscribing to the free programs, you might risk losing out on credibility and reputation online. It’s because most of the free links do not possess the same degree of quality as the paid ones do. Besides you get access to more relevant links through paid ones. Therefore, it might be a better idea to subscribe to paid links on a smaller level rather than having a horde of free random links on your site.

When to Take the Leap of Faith

Make Money Online No Comments »
AddThis Social Bookmark Button

Many people get into Internet Marketing with the ultimate goal of
leaving their “day job” and working full-time from home. But to
simply throw caution to the wind and quit your job is just insane.
Or is it?

There are two schools of thought on leaving a steady job and taking
a leap of faith to pursue your dream of working from home with
Internet Marketing. One side says that you should make sure you
have all your bills paid-up and that you also have six months worth
of living expenses saved up. In other words, make sure you have a
safety net ready to catch you in case things go poorly. Other wise
you could wind-up in a lot of trouble.

The other school of thought says that you just have to do it. Just
quit your job and force yourself to make it with Internet
Marketing. This school of thought often asserts that if you have to
make money, you will make more money in a quicker amount of time
than if you have a safety net of money saved up. In other words, if
you have it in your mind that you might fail, you will. But if you
have it in your mind that you can’t fail, then you won’t.

Of course no one can tell you what you should or shouldn’t do.
Ultimately you are the one who has to make the decision and you are
the only one that knows what you need to make that leap of faith.

However, notice that I write “need” and not want. There is a huge
difference. In all honesty everything probably won’t ever be
lined-up the way you want it to be before you leave the comfort of
a regular paycheck. However, as long as everything is the way it
needs to be then you are ready to take the plunge.

So the next logical question then becomes how do you know when
everything is how you need it to be? Well, that question has a
different answer for everyone because there are a number of factors
that come into play. For example, if you are a single person living
at home with your parents then you might be able to quit your job
tomorrow. However, if you have three little kids to support then
you need to make sure you have a constant income coming in.

The bottom line is to set a goal for when you can quit your job and
then strive for that goal. Don’t allow your own fear to push that
goal further and further into the future. At some point you just
have to take the leap of faith. And when you do, you have to
believe you can make it and then not settle for anything less than
success. Failure is not an option, and if you consider it an
option, it’s probably what will happen to you.

A leap of faith is nothing more than believing in yourself. And if
you do believe in yourself and your willing to work for your
dreams, then you should not fear taking that leap of faith and you
should do it as soon as possible.

The Need for Video with Internet Marketing

Internet Marketing Articles No Comments »
Post to Twitter
AddThis Social Bookmark Button

If you aren’t using video to promote you products then you are
completely missing the boat. Video is the best way to promote your
products and if you aren’t using it then you are literally allowing
money to slip through your hands and into the pockets of someone
else who is using video.

Put another way, if you aren’t using video then you are still
living in 2001, still trying to sell like it’s 2001, but everyone
who’s buying is years beyond that.

Do I have your attention? I hope so. Because what I am about to
tell you will increase your profits AND make your life easier.
Sounds good, right? Well, it is good.

All the big Internet Marketers have already discovered the
advantages to using video. People love to watch things – especially
in today’s world. If given the choice, 90% of people will choose to
watch something rather than read it. Therefore, more people will
watch a video that’s pitching a product than read a sales letter
that’s pitching the exact same product.

This is perhaps the greatest reason to use video – you and your
product get much more exposure. Helping you get even more exposure
is the fact that most videos can now be shared. So if you have a
great video, people can watch it, like it, and then share it with
their friends. This equals even more exposure.

Now, the two keys to video that are often overlooked are sharing it
with the proper sites and making the video interesting and/or
entertaining. If you don’t share it with popular sites then no one
is even going to be exposed to your video. And if you don’t make it
interesting or entertaining then people will click out of the video
before you can even pitch the product.

Here is a list of fourteen of the most popular video sites right
now. The first six or so are in order of their popularity in the
United States and the rest are in no particular order.

Places you want to upload your video to:

1. YouTube
2. Google Video
3. vids.myspace.com
4. Yahoo! Video
5. MSN Video
6. AOL Video
7. Daily Motion
8. Halaro.com
9. Metacafe
10. iFilm
11. Addicting Clips
12. Heavy.com
13. Break.com
14. Veoh

You should shoot to get your video ranked high on the Search
Engines. To help with this make sure you include your keywords in
the description of the video. Also, include the most important
keyword (or key phrase) in the title of the video.

It’s not quite so easy to make your video entertaining and/or
interesting. In fact, there is a fine line that must be walked –
keeping your video fun while still selling something. You want to
come-up with a creative idea and make sure that you aren’t talking
in a monotone on the video. Some people are better off hiring a
voice professional to do the speaking for them.

Of course there is a lot more that can and will be said about video
marketing in the future. There are also many new products that will
help product sales even more. Video marketing is the future and the
future is now. So make sure you aren’t living in the past.

If you want to learn one of the simplest ways to put video online
without having to hire someone else to do it for you, check out

Want More Visitors to Your Site? Try These Tips…

Web Traffic Tips No Comments »
AddThis Social Bookmark Button

The main point of your site is obviously to get people to visit and
then to come back as often as possible. Of course the first thing
you need to do is work hard on your site to make sure it looks
great and that people can find what they want quickly and easily.
After you put in the hard work of getting your site looking just
right, then you just need to draw people into your site and then
get them to keep coming back.

Here are a few ways to do just that.

Create a Newsletter

It’s really quite easy to send out a newsletter by email every
month. All you need is content and a mail client.

You can collect names easy enough by having an opt-in box right on
the home page of your web site. Then make sure you provide quality
information to the people who receive your newsletter. This will
keep people reading your newsletter and it will also keep people
coming back to your site.

Update Your Web Site Often

If people come back to your site and they find it the exact same
every time then these people will get bored and stop coming back.
So you want to update your site with new content everyday or at
least two or three times a week.

You could have a joke of the day. You could have a picture of the
day or even a quote of the day. Just something that is easy to
change and will be interesting to people.

Of course if you are extra energetic and you have the time, you
could even update your site with new articles every single day.

Bookmark Buttons

It’s helpful and very effective to place a Bookmark Button on your
web site. This way people can bookmark your site and come back to
it easily.

Article Marketing

Writing articles that are related to your niche is also a very
great way to direct traffic to your site. You can submit the
article to ezinearticles or a similar article site and then place
your site in the signature line of the article. Then when people
read the article, they will click on the link to your site in order
to get more information.

Run a Contest

Holding a contest is a great way to get new visitors and return
visitors as well. You can publicize the contest and then have
people submit something to your site. Then they will probably tell
their friends (viral marketing) who will also visit your site and
enter the contest. If you will be selecting winners and posting the
winning entries then people will check back in order see or read
the winning entries.

Use Forums and Web 2.0 Sites

Another great way to get the word out about your site is to belong
to forums and include your site url in your signature on the forum.
You should also take advantage of Web 2.0 sites like Squidoo and
Gather.com. These sites allow you to create pages that are of
interest to people. From these sites you should direct people to
your site.

of traffic to your website, check out Ross Goldberg’s Traffic

Forum Marketing

Internet Marketing Articles No Comments »

There is a very important resource for you on the Internet and you
may be overlooking it. Or you may not be using it as much as you
should and could. This resource is Internet Marketing forums. They
are a wealth of information and they are also a great place to
network.

The Best Internet Marketing Forums

There are a number of great Internet Marketing forums on the ‘Net.
The ones you want to belong to are populated by a lot of people.
Also, you want to read the posts to make sure that people are
giving good, honest answers. You also want the environment to be
one of helping people rather than one where people are snipping at
each other.

Here is a list of five of the best Internet Marketing forums:

? warriorforum.com/forum
? sitepoint.com/forums
? businessknowhow.com/forum
? forums.digitalpoint.com
? selfstartersweeklytips.com/forum

Again, all of these forums are very good. However, you will
probably find that you prefer one or more of the forums over the
others. Regardless, try to be active on as many of the forums as
you can.

What to Do on the Forum

Before we get into what you should do on these forums, let’s
quickly mention one thing that you should NEVER do on a forum. That
is SPAM the forum. Don’t do it. You will destroy all your
credibility within a matter of minutes. Additionally, you shouldn’t
blatantly try to pitch anything on the forum, especially if it’s
against the rules.

Make sure you first become a valued member of the forum. You do
this by contributing positively to the forum – giving positive and
helpful answers to questions and asking thought-provoking questions.

Always make sure you put your best foot forward. This means you
don’t ever write a post while you’re angry or feeling over
emotional. Even if someone attacks you on the forum, take a few
hours to cool down and make sure you respond in a rational and nice
way. Remember, your post will be there for all to see for a very
long time.

Lastly, always make sure you proofread your posts before you submit
them. You want everything to be spelled correctly and to be correct
in grammar and usage. Again, these posts will be seen by a lot of
people and you want to look professional at all times and in all
posts.

Forums Can Catapult Your IM Career

The two main reasons why forums are great are because they give you
ideas and advice and they also allow you to network with others.
The networking portion of forums is what is often overlooked. Many
IMers wrongfully believe they are an island and that they can make
it big on their own. While this could happen, it’s a lot easier to
make great money with the help of others. And there’s no better
place to meet people who can work with you and help you be
successful then on forums.

Internet marketing guru Russell Brunson and my friend has a great product about
getting free traffic and making money on forums. The best part is,
Russell will give you resell rights when you buy the “Forum
Fortunes” products!

A Quick Guide to Writing Sales Letters

Internet Marketing Articles 1 Comment »
AddThis Social Bookmark Button

Sales letters are a very important – and arguably the most
important – part of selling your products and services. You can
spend the money to have someone else write your sales letter for
you, or you can write it yourself.

If you write it yourself then you want to follow what is commonly
known as “AIDA”. AIDA is an acronym for attention, interest,
desire, and action. This is how you want to structure your sales
letter.

Attention

The main goal you want to accomplish at the beginning of the letter
is to hook the reader. You want to capture the potential customer’s
attention so that the customer keeps reading. That is your one main
goal.

The best way to do this is to take the biggest benefit of what
you’re selling and highlight it. You want to capture the reader by
using a pre-header, a header, and then a sub-header. If you don’t
hook the reader by the end of the sub-header then you can forget
about anyone buying your product or services.

Interest

After you initially hook the readers and capture their attention,
the next goal you need to achieve is to make the readers
interested. You need to pull them into what you’re saying.

Often you can do this by tossing out an interesting detail but not
explaining it right away. For example, you can something like “I’m
about to tell you how you can make $100 before you go to bed
tonight. But first I want to let you know…” That way they’ll keep
reading to discover how they can make money.

Desire

Since you’ve accomplished getting the readers’ attention and
capturing their interest, next your job is to make them want to buy
your product or service. You have to tell them how they will
benefit from what you’re selling – how it will improve their life.

Two of people’s biggest buying triggers are greed and safety. So,
if possible, you should try to make them think they will be richer
or safer if they buy what you’re selling.

Action

Finally, you want the reader to actually buy what you’re selling.
So tell them to buy it. Spur them into action. And you want them to
buy right then, if possible. So offer them a little something extra
(money off, a free report, something) if they buy within a certain
time period.

The Slippery Slide

“The Slippery Slide” is a popular phrase you’ve probably heard
lately. This phrase was coined by the famed copywriter Joe
Sugarman. It refers to wanting to get the reader sliding into your
sales letter and to the end of it before the reader knows what
happened.

And this is exactly what you want to happen. You want to grab the
reader and lead them quickly down into your sales pitch until they
are at the end of the slide wanting to buy.

Writing Copy

It takes many years and a lot of practice to get really good at
writing sales copy. The best copywriters spent many years honing
their craft and reading books by famous copywriters. But if you
start with the general formula that was laid out in this article,
you will have a good start on your own copywriting success.

If you’re interested in learning more about the art of copywriting,
