Finding Advertisers for Your Niche Websites

Many who are interested in Internet niche marketing focus on creating websites which either promote products or services which they sell directly or entice website visitors to click on an advertiser’s link. The former is typically considered a commercial website while the latter typically refers to a pay per click website where the website owner profits when the users click on the advertisers’ links. In this article we will examine both types of websites and will discuss options for finding advertisers for each type.

Finding Advertisers for a Commercial Website

As previously mentioned a commercial website is one in which the website offers products or services for sale directly. In this scenario those who operate the website are generally profiting through the sale of products or services. However, this is not the only possibility for revenue. Savvy Internet marketers realize the opportunity for placing advertising on their website. The marketer may still profit from sales through their website but may also profit through these advertisements as well.

One obvious possibility for profit is through sale of advertisement space on the website. In this case the advertiser may pay the website owner a monthly fee to run a particular advertisement for a set period of time. Here the website owner collects their fees in exchange for displaying the advertisement and the profit is not linked to sales generated for the advertiser.

The key to finding advertisers for a commercial website is to select another website which complements your products and services without directly competing for your business. For example a website which sells surfboards and surfing lessons may solicit advertisements from companies who sell bathing suits. This is a symbiotic relationship because the owner of the surfboard website receives the advertising dollars and the owner of the bathing suit website receives the potential for increased website traffic.

When searching for an advertiser it is wise to be prepared to provide them with useful information. Information which will be particularly relevant to potential advertisers is current search engine rankings and recent traffic statistics. This is important because the advertiser wants to know the potential for increased traffic to his website. An advertiser is much more likely to invest in advertising on a top ranking website with high traffic than on a poor ranking website with few monthly visitors.

Finding Advertisers for a Pay per Click Website

Generally speaking, pay per click websites are informational websites which provide content and information relative to the advertisers on the website in an attempt to entice visitors to click on the advertiser’s links. Pay per click campaigns may also run on commercial websites but when this is the case they are considered to be a secondary form of profit.

Finding advertisers for pay per click websites is often a simple process. This process is usually simplified by the fact that the advertiser is not paying the website owner for just placing the ad on the website. The advertiser pays the website owner when visitors click through the link to his website. This lowers the risk for the advertiser by ensuring he is only paying for visitors who actually enter his website.

There are many free programs available, where relevant advertisements are served to websites. Google AdSense is one example of this type of program. In this program, websites are evaluated for content and relevant advertisements are placed on the website each time it is viewed. Some of these advertisements may pay per impression meaning the website owner generates revenue each time the advertisement is displayed but the majority of these advertisements are pay per click meaning the revenue is generated when a user clicks on these links.

There are also other programs available which operate essentially as link exchanges. These programs will require you to display a certain number of advertisements on your website in exchange for each website which displays an advertisement for your website. These programs are very convenient because you don’t have to search for advertisers but the downside is you may not have much control over the advertisements which are placed on your website.

Advantages & Disadvantages Of Guerilla Marketing

Internet Marketing Articles No Comments »

We’ll start with the good stuff:

• Guerilla marketing is cheap. At the high end, you
may end up investing a few hundred dollars in
promotional items or a major, centralized piece that
you can build a number of different campaigns around.
At the low end, it’s free — and you can’t beat free!

• In addition to growing your business, guerilla
marketing involves networking, both with your
customers and with other businesses. In the process of
executing and maintaining your campaign, you will make
a lot of new friends and allies.

• Guerilla marketing is specifically tailored to meet
the needs of small businesses, whereas traditional
advertising venues are complicated and expensive to
the point of exclusion (bordering on snobbishness).

• Many aspects of creative guerilla marketing
campaigns are just plain fun! You get to perform wacky
stunts and engage in unusual activities, all in the
name of working for a living.

• Guerilla marketing works. If you do your research,
plan your campaign, and stick with it, you will more
than likely end up with a better and more profitable
business.

And now, the bad:

• Guerilla marketing works — but it is not completely
failsafe. It is, after all, advertising; which is far
from an exact science. The number of variables
involved in advertising guarantees that nothing is 100
percent effective.

• As with any advertising campaign, you will not be
able to pinpoint exactly what works and what doesn’t.
Obtaining measurable results is difficult (but not
impossible, unlike other marketing techniques).

• Guerilla marketing requires a greater level of
dedication and energy than traditional advertising
venues, which often consist of throwing large amounts
of money at other people to do the work for you.

• If you’re looking for a quick fix, guerilla
marketing is not your solution. You will not see
instant or overnight results stemming from your
efforts. An investment of time is required in order to
achieve your business sales goals.

• Guerilla marketing is not for the thin-skinned or
faint of heart. At the very least, you will have a few
detractors who find fault in your methods. At worst,
you may be threatened with legal action (which is why
it’s so important to check your local laws before
engaging in a guerilla marketing campaign).

Protecting Your Affiliate Commissions (Top Secret)

If you promote products via ClickBank or are thinking of starting you need to be aware of a big problem that plagues most affiliate marketers right now.

What might this “big” problem be?

Commission theft.

You see, when people see that your link is a Clickbank based affiliate link (also referred to as hop link) they know that you are an affiliate and that you have encoded your affiliate ID into that link in order to be paid commission.

While not everyone will realize this or be able to spot a Clickbank affiliate link, many will and of those that do, some will flat out steal from you!

How is it possible for someone to steal your affiliate commissions?

Simple, they simply replace your affiliate ID with theirs and then purchase the product. Then they get the commission you where supposed to get and they get the product.

I’m sure that probably makes your stomach turn, it sure did for me. You might be wandering just how bad this commission theft really is. Well, in recent tests I found that as much as 15-20% of my affiliate commissions where being ripped off.

I knew there had to be some way of combating this so started asking around and looking at solutions for disguising my links. One way I found was called cloaking, which I won’t get into too much detail about other than the fact it is setup to trick Internet Explorer into showing a URL that the visitor is not really at and is now being blocked in the new version of IE so this option was out.

I did, however find a solution that was simple and free!

The only thing that it requires is that you have a website, nothing more. This little trick will also make your hop links appear to come from your site without any nasty tricks that get your links blocked. Internet Explorer actually loves these links!

Here’s how it works:

In the code below simply replace “PASTE-YOUR-LINK-HERE” with your Clickbank hop link including http and www. Now copy all of the code from to and paste it into a blank document and save the page as HTML.

You can title the page anything you want so it doesn’t look like an ad and upload it to your server.

It can be:

http://www.MYWEBSITE.com/brandnew.html

or

http://www.MYWEBSITE.com/checkthisout.html

For an advanced setup you can create a new folder on your website and place the HTML file in that folder with the name index.html which will make your links look like this…

http://www.MYWEBSITE.com/checkthisout/

http://www.MYWEBSITE.com/brandnew/

Pretty cool right?

Make sure that you change all of your links to use this tactic so that you can save your affiliate commissions from those commission thieves!

You now have the tools and the power to maximize your commissions on every promotional effort that you put into action!

Why Choosing a Niche is Important in Internet Marketing

Internet Marketing Articles No Comments »

Internet marketing is quickly becoming one of the most profitable types of marketing available. The Internet has the capability of reaching a wide audience and those who take advantage of this widespread reach find themselves in a position where they can benefit greatly from potential clients from all over the world.

There are many who are attempting to profit from Internet marketing but those who are truly successful realize the importance of focusing their efforts on a specific niche. This means the investor focuses his marketing effort on a specific area of interest. This enables the investor to have a more focused strategy for reaching potential customers.

Finding Your Niche

The key to finding a niche in the world of Internet marketing is finding a balance between an area which is of interest to a wide audience but is also an area which is not already saturated on the Internet. This is because a niche which is already saturated on the Internet may not be profitable because there is already so much competition for the interest and business of the target audience’s attention. Investors marketing in these areas would have to be truly innovative and far superior to the competitors already on the market to secure a share of the market.

Conversely, a niche which is not already saturated has room for savvy entrepreneurs to begin marketing to their target audience. In this scenario the audience is hungry for more marketing in this area and smart investors realize what it takes to feed this appetite. These potential clients are looking for quality products or services and investors who know how to make finding their products or services on the Internet a simple process.

We have already spoken about the importance of choosing a niche where the Internet is not already saturated but there is consumer interest but the other key component to selecting a niche is choosing a subject for which you have a passion. This is important because your passion for a particular subject will translate well to profit for a number of reasons. First of all your passion will drive you to succeed. Secondly you will likely produce higher quality products and services if you are marketing a niche you enjoy because you have more intrinsic knowledge of the needs of your customers. The consumers will recognize your love for the products and services you promote and reward you with their business and their loyalty.

Can You Profit Without Finding Your Niche?

Those who are involved in Internet marketing may find that it is possible to profit without focusing on specific niches but in many cases this is not an easy task. All aspects of Internet marketing become exponentially more difficult when there is not a targeted area of focus. Finding advertisers is one of the most obvious examples of how not focusing on a specific niche can make your job harder. Advertisers want to reach a specific audience. If your Internet marketing efforts are highly specialized, you are much more likely to find an advertiser who has a target audience that closely matches your own target audience. When this happens advertisers see the benefit in collaborating with you. However, if your target audience is more diverse, advertisers may be hesitant to enter into a partnership with you because a portion of your audience may not be interested in their products or services. Therefore, they do not see the advantage to collaborating with you.

The example related to finding advertisers clearly illustrates the need to find a niche but there are other reasons why finding a niche is important. One such reason is it reduces workload such as the research efforts. Researching a very specific niche is much easier than attempting to do the same research for several different areas. If the niche you select is not broken down enough into a small enough component you may find yourself often doubling and tripling your efforts in certain areas of your marketing strategy to reach your entire potential audience.

Clickbank Commissions With Forums! Part 2

You’ve now used Google.com to help you compile a list of the top forums in your niche and have them saved to a text file for easy access.

Now it’s time for the simple 5 phase system to generating clicks to your links using this list.

Phase 1 – Introduce Yourself

You want to introduce yourself to each of the forums that you plan on taking part in and you want to do this in a completely non-promotional type of way. This means no link in your post, no talk about products and no “hypey” stuff of any kind. You want to introduce yourself as a person who is interested in the topic at hand and offer to help people with their questions. Think of this as your first impression.

Phase 2 – Your Sig File

If you don’t know what a sig file is, it’s simply a short, 3-5 line ad that explains a targeted offer and links to your Clickbank hop link. In most forums you are allowed to post this at the end of your posts under your name.

Phase 3 – Answer Some Questions And Help People

Next, start answering questions and helping people in the forum. If you find a question you can answer make sure to answer it and post your sig file at the end. As a side note, make sure your responses aren’t shorter than your sig file or you just look like your trying to promote something rather than assist a forum member.

Make sure to answer as many questions as you can on the active forums because this means that your sig file is going to get seen much more and get many more clicks.

Phase 4 – Contribute With Every Post

This is more of a tip to keep in mind rather than a phase but it’s important which is why it’s been included.

You want to make sure that each time you post on the form that you are truly contributing to the community. If you are offering a one line response to someone’s post, this is hardly something that contributes. There’s no reason that you can’t write out a paragraph or two in every response or more.

Take the time to really help people and you will be noticed and it will pay off in big Clickbank commission checks!

Phase 5 – Position Yourself As An Expert

No matter what you do, you want to position yourself as an expert. When someone posts a question and it looks like no one knows the answer, this is your opportunity to look like the guy who really knows what he’s doing.

Even if you don’t know the answer, do a Google.com search or an Ask.com search; find the answer and type up a personal response. This effort will give you huge edge over all other experts on the forum and people will gladly click your links and be more open to buying your recommendations since you are an expert in the field!

Get out there and start posting on forums today! Your Clickbank commissions depend on it!

Top Paying Keywords For Your Blog

Blogging No Comments »
AddThis Social Bookmark Button

In people’s search for higher incomes from placement of Google AdSense ads on their blogs a lot of AdSense publishers are looking to find those keywords that really bring the best income possible. The higher an advertiser pays for a keyword, they more the advertiser receives when they click on a link.

But how can you find such words for your blog? Well, the answer to that question depends a little on who you are and what you’re prepared to do to get those keywords. But the general good news is that you can indeed find such words if you need them.

Of course, if you can afford such a solution, one of the best ways of getting your hands on those words would be to pay for them. There are specialized companies that do business by finding people good keywords, not only for the purpose of more AdSense revenue but for search engine optimization as well.

Such a service can be found on “Top Paying Keywords” http://www.toppayingkeywords.com/?hop=moneymkr and this is a no-brainer to getting relevant content on your site and increasing your revenue by a whole bunch quickly.

Of course, if such a solution does not work for you, you can ultimately resort to a method of personal investigation. That means you try out keywords by yourself and see which ones work better or worse for yourself.

While you might also be doing this for the first method (paying someone else to get the keywords) it would probably be better then this because you’d at least be narrowing down search to certain items.

While you’re trying this make sure to keep using AdSense’s ‘channels’ feature along the way as it can be a very good way of letting you know which sections of your site are generating income and which aren’t.

Of course, you can also yield a great amount of help from AdSense’s arch enemy Overture. Overture gives you the possibility of entering keywords and finding out not only how much advertisers are paying to get them on your page, but how much people are clicking on the words as well. This service can be found at: http://www.pixelfast.com/overture/

You can also try out a tool called Word Tracker http://jeremyburns.com/a/wordtracker. What this tool can do is tell you how many sites are already using the same keywords. Learn from this lesson and don’t try to use the words that a lot of people are already using.

Also, a great aid may very well be found in Google itself. Search Google for any keywords you may wish to include in your pages and look at the results. The results on the left will probably be your competitors (and if they have Google AdSense ads on their page you can bet then are) while the links on the right display ads relevant to your search.

If your search doesn’t yield any AdSense results then you might want to reconsider including those keywords in your site.

Make sure you don’t use any dead words on your blog (words that don’t get any links on AdSense other then public ads). That is probably the most important thing you should be doing when considering keywords to chase in your blooging for dollars campaign.

Of course these are only a few methods of getting out of the dead zone and starting to make serious money with AdSense. If you’ve seen a lot of people with “not so hot” websites generating a lot of AdSense revenue, using these tips can get you right behind them (or in front if you’re really smart) very fast. Although this is the case it is also very important to remember that having the highest paying words does not mean that you make the most money. You have to also consider how many times the advert is clicked on.

Clickbank Commissions With Forums!

Affiliate Marketing No Comments »

AddThis Social Bookmark Button

So you know how to setup your affiliate links and have found a few products on the Clickbank that you want to promote and make some commission on. The next step is getting people to actually see your link and click on it!

If you’re like most people you probably don’t have a lot of money to spend on advertising or just might not want to spend any money. Whatever your situation is, we are going to get into a quick, free and extremely easy to use system for generating traffic to your Clickbank affiliate links.

Let’s get busy right now!

1) Load up Google.com come in your favorite web browser.

2) You need to decide what your subject matter is and make sure that it is related to your product that you want to promote. For example, if you are promoting an eBook on Dog Training you want to search for a Dog Training Forum or a Dog Lovers forum.

3) Once you have decided on your subject, type the subject plus the word “forum” into the Google.com search box. For example, if I was going to look for a Dog Training forum I would type “Dog Training Forum” into the search box.

SIDE NOTE: To make sure that you find all of the best forums I strongly recommend doing your searches using the words “message board” and “community”. That means that you would take your dog training search and do it three times using all of the these combinations…

“dog training forum”
“dog training message board”
“dog training community”

By doing this you greatly increase the amount of message boards you find and can even find many that don’t come up in the results for the other terms. This is a cool little trick to maximize your research with just a couple of extra searches.

4) Now click search in Google.

5) Click through the top 10 results and take notice of what sites are actually message boards or are just ranking high for that search term by mistake. Also take notice of message boards that are active and those that aren’t. You don’t want to be posting in a message board that hasn’t had a post in a week.

You want to find communities, message boards and forums that are active and have daily posting and user interaction so that your posting isn’t going to just be a waste of time. Think about it for a second, if no one has posted in a week, there’s a very good change that site is either getting very little visitors or ‘no” visitors which means that no one is going to see your Clickbank affiliate link, let alone click on it.

I want you to make a list of the URL’s that are actually message boards and are active (meaning daily activity) and paste them into a text document so that you can save them.

You will find out how to use this list to actually get clicks to your Clickbank hop links in the next article in the “Clickbank Commissions With Forums!” series.
