What Is Lead Generation?

Lead is the manufacture of connections between well-matched consumers and target corporate vendors. Which really just means finding people who will buy what you have to sell. It’s often seen as the grunt work of building an effective business, but where would you be WITHOUT customers? So, you need to learn the skill of generating leads.

How do you generate leads? Several ways: advertising, trade shows, publicity and public relations, product literature, and somewhat less successfully by spam (definitely not recommended) All these methods are based on the statistical likelihood that if you communicate to a large audience, you should get a response back.

Another method of obtaining leads is buying them. Lead generation can certainly be expensive, but that’s actually a matter of what route you choose. It does NOT have to be. There are very simple and effective ways to generate leads that don’t cost and arm and a leg, especially if you’re willing to put some elbow grease into it and learn the techniques.

Cold leads people really love to hate because they’ve had to contact with these people before calling or writing them. Warm leads are people who responded to a request (or opted in by signing up for something). They either respond to you directly, or respond to you through your website. Hot leads are people who responded, indicating an interest in your MLM business. All leads need follow through, but different kinds of follow through, and these are the skills you need to learn.

This will interest you, conversion rates on leads you receive often have a higher conversion rate than cold contacts. Why? Because the prospect is prequalified, before you ever receive the lead. In other words, they asked to receive the information you have.

Companies spend huge amounts of time, effort, and money trying to get a few people to respond out of a large pool of potential customers to become a new lead. Yet, they don’t invest the time to follow up. Every day you let a lead sit unattended it decreases in value. You get out of lead generation what you put into it. Once you have a lead, start relationship marketing and build from there.

Keyword Relevance

Search Engine Optimization and SEO No Comments »

The function of keywords is to attract the search engineÆs
attention. Once attracted, the search engine lists the site that
contains the keyword. This system opened up avenues for search
engine abuse by web masters. Because of a search engineÆs heavy
dependence on keywords, anybody could write ôsex, xxx, pornö and
other strong keywords even though the website contains nothing
of the sort. As a result of this abuse, the reputations of
search engines all over the web begun to suffer. Surfers got
re-directed to websites that had no relevance to their query.

To stop the abuse and enhance their accuracy and reputation,
search engines devised an algorithm method where web crawlers
not only looked at the keywords, but also at the contents that
goes along with them. With this new method of indexing, web
masters and internet marketers were finally forced to perform
honest work. They stopped using words like ôsex, xxxö and pornö
where there was none and begun writing relevant articles that
give accurate descriptions of their website or products.

As a result of this new indexing system, the industry of search
engine optimization (SEO) article writing was born. SEO article
writers are required to write meaningful articles that
thoroughly describe the product or website. Aside from using
correct and appropriate writing methods, they also have to
reserve slots within the article for the seeding of keywords.

As far as search engines are concerned, they index your website
by scanning the top of your website first. Be sure to have
descriptive literature of about 250++ words as this is what the
search engines look for. Within that 250++ word article, embed
your keywords in it without breaking the smooth flow of the
article. Try to avoid grammar deficiencies because of keyword
seeding. Your article needs to be as correct as it can be for
the search engine to understand what your website is saying and
what relevance it has to a searcherÆs query.

You can try the old method but you will not get as good results
as you will with the honest way. Furthermore, attempting to
mislead a search engine can lead to a bottom placement in search
rankings. Aside from being given low priority in searches,
search engines also have the option of removing your website
from their index. If this unfortunate development happens to
your website, youÆve already lost your business.

The internet is evolving. Just as it took centuries for the
laws of the United States to reach maturity, the internet is
hurrying along at light-speeds to protect everyone who decides
to visit it. If you try to disrupt the flow of one of its
economies, various individuals and corporations that own a stake
in the internet will immediately smother you and the tools you
use for disturbing a relatively peaceful environment.

As honesty seems to be the best policy for now, SEO article
writing is the way to go. Do not compromise your articles for
the sake of keyword density. After all, when your customers get
to your website and read a poorly written article, your esteem
in their eyes will immediately plummet. It wouldnÆt be a
surprise if they decide to transfer to another website with
better services and a higher degree of usefulness and accuracy.

Being an SEO writer myself, I can only say that what I
wrote above is all true. IÆve surfed hundreds of sites
pertaining to SEO writing tips and suggestions. I never saw
anyone suggesting a higher priority for keywords over relevance.
My own opinion is that keyword seeding and article composition
should both be done with great care.

Using Guest Bloggers

Owners of a successful blog that has a large following may sometimes have the need to use guest bloggers. An example of when this practice may be a good idea is when the owner of a popular blog will be unavailable to post new blog entries for an extended period of time. In this case the lack of blog updates may cause the blog to lose traffic so it would be prudent for the blog owner to make arrangements for a guest blogger or a series of guest bloggers to post new items during his absence. The blogger may also wish to announce the intention to use guest bloggers during this period of time to ensure loyal blog visitors are aware of the situation and that it is only temporary. This article will discuss aspects of using guest bloggers such as advertising for guest bloggers, selecting guest bloggers and compensating guest bloggers.

Advertising for Guest Bloggers

There are a number of locations where a blog owner can advertise for guest bloggers. Job boards specifically for bloggers or freelance writers are an excellent option for finding guest bloggers. Job boards for bloggers are frequently visited by experienced bloggers who are looking for new opportunities to blog for compensation. These bloggers may have specific experience with the subject matter of the blog or may simply be adept at creating interesting blogs on a variety of subjects. Job boards for freelance writers are another great option. These writers may not necessarily have experience blogging but they may have other writing experience that is useful. Blog owners should consider posting a detailed messaged specifying the type of work required and duration of the project and asking for clips from the writers which can be used to verify the writer’s skill level.

Blog owners may also wish to advertise for guest bloggers on message boards related to the subject of the blog. Visitors of this blog may not necessarily have writing experience but will likely be quite knowledgeable about the subject of the blog and therefore be capable of producing interesting and insightful blogs.

Selecting Guest Bloggers

Selecting a guest blogger should be done carefully to ensure the guest blogger is reliable and capable of producing articulate, informative and interesting blog posts. Blog owners who advertise for a guest blogger on job boards for bloggers and freelance writers should ask for clips demonstrating the writer’s ability to write blogs which are interesting and informative. When advertising on a message board for a guest blogger, the blog owner might want to consider using the applicant’s previous posts to evaluate his writing ability and knowledge of the subject matter. He should also consider the type of response the applicant’s message board postings typically elicit. This is important because it is a good indication of the type of response the blogs will elicit. Blog owners should also ask the applicants for references and should contact these references to obtain information about the bloggers work ethic and ability to complete projects.

Compensating Guest Bloggers

Blog owners should also carefully consider how they intend to compensate guest bloggers. This can be done in the form of financial compensation or through allowing the guest blogger to post a brief biography with a link to his personal website or blog at the conclusion of the blog post. The latter form of compensation is essentially free advertisement space for the guest blogger. The blog owner may also wish to compensate the guest blogger with a combination of money and free advertising space. Regardless of the method of compensation chosen the blog owner should discuss this with the guest blogger before work commences and should enter a written contract with the guest blogger which explicitly states the terms of the compensation to avoid disputes.

Relationship Prospecting by E-Mail

MLM No Comments »

This is pretty straight forward and is based on the fact that you have already built a relationship with your prospect – it’s someone you know and think would be a good team member for your MLM business. You’ll provide them with the information they need to know to make an informed decision about joining you. This type of e-mail doesn’t have to be any more than about 400 words, but it must contain at least 3 calls to action that are the same. For instance, ask them to visit just one particular page of your website three times. Why? Too confusing if you ask them to visits other pages. Stick to the basics and make sure you have that covered thoroughly.

Ok you’ve learned you need at least three calls to action in this type of e-mail and that it means you want them to go to your business web site. Try for one PS, but ideally two with the second being a PSS. By the way, the PSS should be the third call to action.

The next category of email marketing is the Relationship Informative arena. Notice the word Informative. That’s the key to this kind of e-mail marketing. You’ve likely seen these in newsletters and ezines -large one page informercials, that don’t ask anyone to buy anything. They’re only there to just provide information. You need to be very careful you don’t come across as a MLM Marketer. Your only goal here is to merely provide information in an informational manner. Usually in about 1,500 words give or take.

Studies show e-newsletters that are informative are preferred, but only about 11% of newsletters are read thoroughly. Lesson is? Layout and content are KING. Readers will ignore or delete newsletters that aren’t perceived as useful. Since your whole reason for marketing is to retain customers, this is a skill you NEED to master.

Tips for Keeping Your Blog Up to Date

Blogging No Comments »

Keeping a blog up to date is one of the most important aspects of blogging. This is so important because regular blog visitors expect new postings on a regular basis. Not all visitors expect to see a new post as often as once a day but most blog readers expect the content on the blog to be updated on a regular basis. In most cases visitors expect new content on at least a weekly basis. However, depending on the subject matter the visitors may expect updates on a basis which is either more frequent. Similarly visitors may not be interested in receiving this type of information more than a few times a year.

Blog owners should be aware of the frequency of which readers expect new posts and should make an effort to oblige the readers with updates this often. This article will discuss methods for keeping a blog up to date including scheduling a regular time to post blogs, using publishing tools wisely and hiring guest bloggers when necessary.

Finding Time to Post Daily

One way to help to ensure a blog remains up to date is to schedule time to post blogs on a daily basis. This is especially important when blog readers expect new posts on a daily basis or at least several times per week. Bloggers who allot a specific block of time each day to researching, writing and publishing blogs are more likely to have a blog which is up to date than bloggers who plan on accomplishing tasks when they find time to do so.

There may still be days in which the blogger is unable to publish a new post on the blog but these days will be less frequent than if the blogger does not have a block of time strictly dedicated to keeping the blog up to date.

On days in which the blog is unable to devote time to blogging, the blogger may wish to at least publish a short message explaining why it was not possible to post a new blog entry. This will let readers know you are aware of their desire to read more information but are simply unable to publish a new blog post. As long as this does not become a regular occurrence, blog visitors are not likely to stop viewing a blog simply because the blogger skips a day or two.

Taking Advantage of Publishing Tools

Some blog publishing tools enable bloggers to write blog posts ahead of time and specify when each post should be published. This is an excellent feature for bloggers who want to publish new posts daily but are unable to dedicate time each day to writing blog posts. This way the blogger can dedicate a block of time each week to write blog posts and have the posts published throughout the week. This is often an easier method for many bloggers because they are able to be more efficient this way.

Hiring Guest Bloggers

Bloggers may also want to consider hiring guest bloggers to assist them in keeping a blog up to date. This can be a worthwhile method for bloggers who are not only having difficulty keeping their blog up to date but are also interested in providing readers with a little variety. However, blog owners who opt for this message of keeping their blog up to date should carefully consider how the dedicated blog readers will react to this change. This is important because some readers may not be interested in reading blogs written by a guest blogger.

Therefore the use of a guest blogger can actually be more detrimental to the blog than not updating the blog regularly. Bloggers can gauge reader reaction to the use of guest bloggers in a couple of different ways. The simplest and most straight forward method is to poll the readers about the use of guest bloggers. This can be done by asking readers to comment on the issue and tabulating the comments received. Another method to gauge reader reaction is to introduce a guest blogger and compare the traffic the guest blogger receives to the traffic the blog owner receives.
