Why you should post regularly on your blog

Keeping people interested in your blog, whether it is a business
or personal blog, is key to attracting a lot of regular
visitors. Many blogs have died because people have just lost
interest. The main reason for the lack of interest is simply a
lack of posts by the blogger. Regular, frequent posting, which
will boost your blog’s ranking in search engines, is essential
to the survival of any blog.

You might be asking yourself, what is frequent posting? How many
blog entries should I make on a given week? How do I make
frequent consistently good posts? What are the reasons for me to
post frequently? In this newsletter, we will go over all of the
above.

What is frequent posting?

Frequent blog posting is posting enough to keep your readers
interested. Obviously, people will not want to come back to a
blog that hasn’t been updated in months. They want to see
consistent posting so that they know coming back to check the
blog next week to see if there are more posts won’t be a waste
of time.

How many blog entries should I make each week?

This is one of the tougher questions to answer. It really
depends on the purpose of your blog. If it’s a personal blog, a
weekly or twice weekly update is an excellent idea. A
political/sports/music/religion blog should have 3-4 posts per
week. Business blogs should have at least 2 posts, but
preferably 4 each week.

The thing to remember is that quality counts. Posting frequently
just for the sake of posting frequently tends to result in
subpar posts which people won’t care about. It is important to
find a balance—frequent, quality posts that won’t result in
burnout on your part. Why create 4 poor quality posts each week
when you could post 2 quality posts per week?

How do I create quality postings on a consistent basis?

It’s all about following a consistent pattern of writing. Maybe
you’re not a natural writer and this is difficult. That’s why
we’ll give you an outline to help you.

1. Pick a topic that is interesting to you and to your readers.
Maybe if your blog is a personal blog, you could write about the
latest happenings in Hollywood.
2. Carefully think about what you’ll write about the topic. It
makes it easy to make quality blog postings if you know exactly
what you’ll write. Plot out everything about the post before
even beginning to write it.
3. Before writing your content, pick out some keywords that are
relevant to your blog. If you naturally use keywords throughout
your post, you will please search engine spiders which will get
your blog ranked higher on search engines. Your visitors won’t
mind the use of keywords if they are used in a tasteful way.
4. Begin writing your post. Don’t limit yourself to a particular
amount of words. Just do what’s natural. And if any blog post is
hard for you, just take a timeout and relax. You should be able
to finish the post a bit later on, after you’ve had some time to
think things through, you should be able to finish the post with
no problems.

Why is frequent posting important?

Blogs are meant to be outlets for individuals or businesses.
They are used to get an opinion out on something and to engage
readers. Readers need to have something that makes them want to
keep coming back to a blog. That something is usually quality,
frequent posts.

Gaining and maintaining visitors isn’t the only reason to post
often in your blog. Catching the eye of a search engine—and
achieving a high ranking—is another valid reason for posting
frequently. Most likely, each posting in your blog features some
keywords or keyword phrases scattered throughout it. Logic says
that the more natural keywords you have on a blog, the better.
Thus, the more posts you make on your blog, the more keywords
you have on there. And the more keywords you have, the more
likely a search engine bot is to crawl your site. The more your
site is crawled by bots, the more likely it is that you will
have a high ranking on a search engine.

Frequent blog posting can be easy as long as the person who
is posting takes the time to plot out what they’ll write about.
So take a few minutes to think about your post and then just do
it!

Generating Traffic with Articles

Are you a websites owner who has been looking for ways to
increase your website traffic? If so, you are defiantly not
alone. Each year, millions of website owners wonder why their
website didn’t see more traffic. Instead of wondering, you are
urged to take action. After all, there are a number of different
ways that you can go about increasing the traffic that your
website sees. The good news is that a number of these ways,
which include article distribution, are relatively easy to
implement. Despite being easy to implement, the rewards may be
immeasurable.

Article distribution is an internet marketing technique that is
used by many webmasters. Despite being a relativity popularity
marketing tactic, there are still many webmasters who are
unfamiliar with article distribution. If you are one of those
business owners, you will want to read on. Taking the time to
familiarize yourself with article distribution could be your
best minutes ever put to use.

Article distribution involves the use of websites that are known
as article directories. Article directories are websites that
host a large collection of articles. To make finding and
reading those articles easier, most article directories place
each of their articles into categories. Popular categories
include education, business, automobiles, and travel. In each
article, the writer is able to create a link to one of their
websites. That link is often accompanied by background
information on the website in question or the webmaster. Each
time one of your links is clicked, internet users will be
directed to your website. This connection will increase the
amount of traffic your website sees and it may also help to
increase the amount of profit it generates.

Although article distribution is a nice and easy way to generate
website traffic, it is one that needs to be handled properly.
If not handled correctly, you may essentially end up wasting
your time. The first step in using article directories to your
advantage is focusing on a topic that you would like to write
about. For the best success, you will want to write on a topic
or an issue that is, in one way or another, related to the
website readers will be directed to. Any article may increase
the traffic that your website sees, but if you rely on internet
sales, you will need to go a step further. For instance, if you
are selling a service, such as an answering service, you may
want your article to focus on the benefits of using an answering
service.

Once you have determine what the main topic or focus of your
articles will be, you will then need to examine how you will
write them. If you find yourself having a difficult time
figuring out what to write, you may want to think about creating
yourself an outline. An outline will act as a guide for you. An
outline will not only help you know what to write, but it will
also help to ensure that you do not leave out any important
information.

Once you have created yourself an outline, you can begin to
start writing. When doing so, it is important that you keep your
content interesting and easy to read. Be cautious of using
technical words that many internet users will not understand.
Although your first thought may be to create informational
articles, you want to be cautious of providing too much
information. You need your readers to click on your links, to
get to your website. If your article is too informative, they
may already have found what they needed, thus the needed for
visiting your website may have been eliminated. You will want
to leave your readers wanting more information.

After your article has been compiled and thoroughly proofread,
you will want to submit it to the article directories of your
choice. Although you might assume that your job is done after
this point, it isn’t or at least it shouldn’t be. Article
distribution is a great way to generate traffic, but it needs to
be done on occasion. In fact, article distribution should be
done on a regular basis. You may want to set a goal for
yourself, like submitting at least five articles a month or even
more. This will help to ensure that your readers are always
given new, updated information to read and absorb. In fact, the
more articles you distribute the more links you will create.

Article directories welcome your content with open arms. In
exchange with providing them with free content, you will be
getting free links to your own website; thus increasing its
traffic.

Affiliate Traffic Tricks

With affiliate programs, you can easily sell products without
even having to have the product in your hand. As nice as it
sounds, you still need to have you own website; it is a
requirement for many affiliate programs.

Having a website is ideal, but to really make money with affiliate programs, you
need to have a website that receives a relatively high amount of
traffic. If you would like to increase the amount of traffic
that your website sees, you should examine newsletters. They are
a great way to increase website traffic.

Before examining how newsletters can help you increase your
websites traffic, it is best that you first understand
newsletters. When it comes to understanding newsletters, there
tends to be a little bit of confusion. Newsletters come in a
number of different shapes, sizes, and styles; they are all used
for different purposes.

Newsletters are essentially emails that
are sent to those who have requested to receive them. Some use
newsletters solely to update their customers and other uses them
just as means of regular communication. Despite a variation in
purposes, one the most common uses of a newsletter is to
increase traffic.

One of the most common questions asked, concerning email
newsletters is “why?” A large number of individuals, namely
affiliate program participants, wonder why they should even
bother writing and then distributing a newsletter.

In all honesty, there are an unlimited number of reasons why you should
write and distribute newsletters to those who are interested in
receiving them. The number one reason is because you can do it
as little or as often as you want. Many webmasters only send
out newsletters as often as their time allows them to do so.

It is also important to note that your newsletter content can be
whatever you want it to be. In fact, you may even want to think
about tying in your affiliate program or the products that you
are selling.

In conjunction with an affiliate program or an affiliate product
tie in, you can not only use newsletters to increase your
website traffic, but also to promote your affiliate products;
products that you are responsible to help sell. You can do this
by writing a quick review or recommendation of the products or
products that you are helping to sell.

If you haven’t tried the product yourself, you may want to try and find other internet
users who have. Most of the time, you will find that many
internet users are more than willing to write a quick review,
just for the sake of helping others.

If you are an article writer or if you enjoy writing, you may
want to write your own newsletters. If you are not an article
writer or if you are, but you just don’t have the time to
produce you own newsletters, you don’t have to. There are a
number of alternatives for you to choose from. One of the
easiest alternatives is to pay a professional to write your
newsletter for you.

If you are looking for a free way to make a newsletter, you are urged to examine article directories. Many article directories give out free usage rights for their
articles. This means that you can easily find newsletter
content, that you didn’t write, without having to spend a dime!
When using article directories, it is advised that you use
articles that are, in one way or another, related to your
website or the affiliate products that you are helping to sell.

As you can see, there are a number of reasons why you should at
least think about writing and disturbing a newsletter. In
addition to those reasons, there are also an unlimited number of
benefits to using newsletters to your advantage. Whether you
make the decision to write your own newsletters, hire a
professional, or use free content from article directories, you
are urged to give newsletters a chance. In the end, you might
be surprised just how effective they are.

Placing the Google AdSense ads properly

Adsense 3 Comments »
AddThis Social Bookmark Button

We have all heard the old saying that the three most important factors in real estate are location, location and location, and this old axiom carries over into the world of Google AdSense as well. Where you place your ads can have a profound impact on the success of your AdSense program, so it makes sense to pay careful attention to where those ads are located.

In the case of Google AdSense, location refers to where on the page the ads are placed. The goal, of course, should be for the ads to blend in with the rest of the site, rather than sticking out as an obvious ad. The less like an ad it looks the more effective it is likely to be.

Of course it is important that the location of the Google AdSense ads does not interfere with the usability of the web site itself. It is important to make sure that the site remains usable and intuitive, and that it does not appear crowded or busy. If the web site does look too cluttered, you may want to break the site down into more sections, or add additional pages to provide for easier reading. A side benefit of having more pages on the site is that those additional pages can host additional ads, and generate addition revenue from the AdSense program.

Even though text ads are generally better and more effective, a site that is extremely heavy on text, with few images, may actually benefit from image ads. Adding a few image ads can help provide much needed graphics while naturally directing the attention of the visitor to the ads. This strategy can be highly effective, and it is one to consider if your web site is long on text and short on pictures.

Whether you are placing image ads or text ads, however, the biggest question remains where to put those ads. In order to be most effective, the ads should generally be placed as close to the top of the page as possible. The ads at or near the top of the page are generally more likely to be noticed than those closer to the bottom.

If you use “skyscraper” ads, similar to column ads in newspapers on the sidebars of the web site it is a good idea to place them to the right of the web site content. This is because visitors to your web site will most likely be reading from left to right. The visitor’s eyes will naturally go to the right, where the ad will be displayed.

In addition, the ads should be placed in such a way that they blend in naturally with the surrounding content. For instance, if you already have a list of links on your web site, it is a good idea to place the AdSense links in that section of the web site. Google allows this type of placement and it is perfectly proper to use this strategy.

For those web sites with a main page that is updated daily, the best place for Google AdSense ads is on that frequently updated page. Putting the ads where people will be most likely to see them is a good way to get them noticed. If the site is updated often and bookmarked by many users, that will increase the chances of a visitor clicking the ads and generating revenue for the site.

It is important to remember, however, that the home page of the web site is not always the most visited. It is important for each web site owner to look at his or her own web site statistics when determining the best page to place the majority of AdSense ads. For many web sites, the most visited page will not be the home page, but another page that is updated frequently, like a “what’s new” page, or a “current events” page. If you do not currently receive website tracking reports, most web hosting companies will be able to provide these important usage statistics.

Common Mistakes Made by Affiliate Marketers

Affiliate Marketing, Internet Marketing Articles No Comments »

AddThis Social Bookmark Button

Having an Internet business, which earns you money on auto-pilot is very exciting. Although it’s easy to make money with affiliate marketing, only a very small percentage of affiliates make a lot of money.

By following the advice in this article, not only will you avoid the common mistakes most affiliate marketers make, but you will also learn how to select programs that make you residual income for many months.

With affiliate marketing a vendor pays people (affiliates) a certain percentage of the sale price for merchandise sold. It’s a win-win situation because the affiliate simply refers people to a website and does not have to worry about fulfillment, and the vendor gets people to advertise for them and only has to pay them after they make a sale.

Here are some common mistakes most affiliate marketers make, and why you should avoid them:

1. Sending people directly to an affiliate’s website.

You spend so much energy, time and money to advertise. When you send people directly to a vendor’s website you only have one chance to get the sale. If they don’t buy they are gone. The best way to do this is to send people to an opting page, where you give them something of value for free, in exchange for their email address. That way you can follow up with them at a later date and have the opportunity to sell them other products.

2. Creating a website with a gazillion affiliate links, tons of flashy banners and all the colors of the rainbow.

You don’t want to overwhelm people because when that happens they are gone. Instead, offer an honest review of a product, pre-selling readers on its benefits, and on how it will help them.

3. Falling victim of affiliate commission theft.

Yes, commission theft is a very big problem. While, you cannot eliminate it completely, there are some steps you can take, to minimize it dramatically. Two methods you can use are cloaking and redirecting, instead of having the affiliate url in the form: http://www.vendorswebsite.com/?id=imakemoneyoffofyou

It takes the same effort to refer a sale for a one-time purchase product than it takes to refer one for a residual payment product. Therefore, it makes good business sense to try and market affiliate programs with recurring commissions.

In choosing residual payment affiliate programs, you should consider the stickiness of the services you are promoting.

For example, you refer a sale for a membership website which only offers resale rights to products, and nothing else to keep the customer from canceling. People can join, download all the products and then cancel within the same month.

On the other hand, consider referring a sale for web hosting or for an autoresponder service. These services will be essential for the customer’s business, and he/she is therefore not likely to cancel for a very long time or until they give up their online ventures completely.

In conclusion, you should try and avoid the common mistakes that affiliate marketers make by sending your customers to an opt-in list first, pre-selling them to the product’s benefits, and by avoiding affiliate commission theft. In addition, you should be going after programs with residual commissions but be sure to always evaluate the stickiness of the product you are recommending. To be able to do that, the best way is to try the product yourself first.

Finding Profitable Keywords with Google

Adwords, Internet Marketing Articles 2 Comments »
Post to Twitter
AddThis Social Bookmark Button

If you’re an internet marketer, you know the secret of success is to find a niche market and then home in on the perfect keywords.

A niche market is a group of individuals with available money who share a common interest, problem, enthusiasm, need or mania and who can be easily found online.

For example, small plane owners comprise a niche market. Collectors of Grateful Dead memorabilia are a niche market. Members of the 101st Airborne form a niche market. People who build their own racing wheelchairs are a niche market. City dwellers approaching retirement to a rural area form another niche market.

It’s pretty easy to think up groups of people who share a common interest or have a common problem. What isn’t so easy is to discover which of the many potential markets will provide an entrepreneur the best monetary return for an investment of time and energy building a website and promoting it.

People who are forced to move suddenly are a niche market. They have a problem and they need a solution right now. They are looking for help. If you are an internet marketer, you want them to find YOU.

That’s where the Google Keyword tool can come in handy.

You need to have an Adwords account to make use of these tools, but an Adwords account is free until you run an ad. The tools are well worth the time to sign up.

Once you have an Adwords account at adwords.google.com, you can then proceed to adwords.google.com/select/Tools.

First, take a look at the “Keyword Tool.” You may want to prepare a list of keywords in a text file before you go to the Tools. Then you can simply cut and paste the list into the keyword tool box. Be sure to check the box “Use Synonyms” to get the most complete list of keyword suggestions.

For example, say you’d found some great affiliate programs for dog products, but know the main dog market is oversaturated with heavy competition. You’re looking for some nice niche markets where your products will still be big sellers, but the competition will be less. So you type the word “dogs” into the keyword tool.

128 keywords show on the returned list. Most of the major dog breeds are included, such as Pugs, Papillons, Corgis and Cockapoos. Owners of specific breeds may form markets you could pursue. And in addition, there are such prime niche markets as dog tags, dog crates, dog electric fence, dog insurance, dog costumes, dog medication, dog boarding, dog names, etc.

The only question is whether any of these niches has monetary value.

Your next step is to go to the drop down box near the top of the page and change “show columns” from “keywords only” to “keyword popularity.” You do not need to run the search again; the page display will change when you make your selection.

When you get your results, be sure to notice that at the bottom of the page is a link you can click to export your results to a spreadsheet like Excel, as well as looking at them on the webpage.

Now you will see one column which shows you how much competition there is for the keyword and another column showing how many people are looking for that term. The information is presented in nice graphical form so that with a glance you can really understand just how tough a market “dogs” really is. It is nearly totally saturated. Maybe you’d be better off into the ferret market, or pot bellied pigs. When you look closely, you see a possible opening in “heated dog beds” and when you look even more closely you can see a pattern emerging which might be useful. Electronic collars, electronic fences, heated dog bed, heated dog houses, etc. all show a slightly lower competition factor. Now all you need is the domain name ElectricDog.com and you’re ready to go. (Sorry, it’s already taken.)

But wait … there’s another option on the drop down box for “show columns”. Now set it to show you “Cost and position estimates” and set the value for “Calculate Values using Max CPC” to the maximum of $100. Click Recalculate.

The results you see show you how much people are bidding to be in the top 3 positions for an Adwords ad (which is also a good indicator of how much relatively you can make for the percentage of revenue Google pays for Adsense ads for the keyword used in your website’s articles and content.)

You immediately notice that electric dog fence is a $5.10 keyword, electronic dog door is $12.26, and electric dog collars is $5.20. At the same time, you notice an even smaller niche with great potential which you’d overlooked, “dog insurance” with a bid value of a whopping $15.38, but when you bounce back to the page with “keyword popularity” results, your excitement backs off a bit, because that keyword appears to be totally saturated. More research may be in order there, or perhaps simply an opportunity to add a few articles and garner some Adsense revenue.

So now you know a possible slot and you know that to promote it you may need to steer away from expensive Adwords ads in favor of other advertising, but you may be able to make good money from your site’s content through placing Adsense ads on your pages.

This is a valuable tool, indeed.

Top 5 Ways to Market Your Online Business

Home Business, Internet Advertising, Internet Marketing Articles, Small Business 1 Comment »

Marketing your online business can be a huge part of your budget especially when you’re first starting out. Finding ways to get your name in front of your customer that doesn’t cost a fortune will help you draw sales while you’re working on getting ranked in the search engines.

Below are the top five ways to market your business on the internet. The ideas listed are not only inexpensive but are highly effective as well. However, before you even consider using one of these strategies, there are two things you must first do.

The first is to write a formal marketing plan. If you’re getting close to opening your business, a marketing plan should already be done as part of your company’s business plan. However, it’s true that many who start online businesses fail to write a business plan. If this is the case, just be sure to at least get your marketing plan formalized before you start doing business. Getting your marketing plan thought through and documented is the minimum you should do for your business. When writing your marketing plan, consider the who, what, when, and how you will do your selling and get your brand in front of your customer. Then decide which of the following strategies you will implement in that plan and explain how you plan to carry out those strategies.

The other thing you need to consider is search engine optimization. It is essential to learn how to optimize your website so it will eventually get ranked in the top three search engines, Google, Yahoo, and MSN. The sooner you get started with optimizing your site, the faster it will get ranked. Until some of your pages are ranked in the search engines, your traffic will remain minimal. Consider investing in a book, ebook, ecourse, or program of some sort to learn how to optimize your site so you can use the information as you are building it and adding your content. Be sure you’re learning the most recent information because the rules change frequently.

Now on to the Top 5 Ways to Market Your Online Business.

1. Find Your Niche. Imagine trying to sell your product or service to the entire world. Consider the marketing budgets of companies like Coca-Cola and McDonalds, these are companies that are trying to appeal to everyone. Selling your product or service to a small but focused group of people will allow you the luxury of advertising to a smaller but more interested group of people. Since they are more interested, a higher percentage of the group will buy but you will have spent less money pursuing the smaller group. Once you are successful selling to one niche, if your product or service is appealing to another niche, you can create another website and repeat your success using the same strategies you used on the first website.

2. Link Exchanges. Exchanging links with other websites that have complimentary products or services will not only give you direct traffic from the link but it will also help you with your pursuit to get ranked in the search engines. At the time of this writing, Google is the most widely used search engine, and it’s widely known that they consider the number of links pointing to your website as part of the determination where to rank your website.

3. Write Articles. Writing articles with information that is interesting and useful for your niche market will help you gain traffic to your site. When writing an article, include a resource box at the end of the article that includes information about the author (that’s you) and a link to your website. Then distribute the article to article directories for other website owners to use on their site or in their newsletters and ezines. This does two things, you gain traffic when someone sees your article on another website and clicks your link and you get a link that points back to your site for the search engines to use to rank your site higher.

4. Using a Signature Line in Online Forums. This is a strategy that could be quite time consuming so don’t let it take up huge amounts of your time, however it is quite effective in drawing traffic to your website. Join forums and messageboards that are useful to your niche market and then become part of the community. When you make a post, be sure it’s useful and relevant to the information that is being discussed, then at the bottom of your post, sign-off with your name and little blurb about your company with a link to your website. These are often referred to as “sig lines”. Be sure to read the forum’s guidelines to be sure you’re using the proper etiquette in the forum and to be sure signature lines are allowed. If they are not allowed, do not use this strategy in that forum as it could cause you to be banned from that forum.

5. Start A Newsletter. Having a newsletter is one of the best ways to market to your customers and potential customers. You will need to have a service that will host your list and allow you to send your newsletter. Then you put a sign-up box on your website and your visitors will sign-up. Periodically, you decide how often, you send those who have signed up an email with information that is relevant to your niche. This information could be general info or it could be specifically about your product. To get your visitors to sign-up you can offer a special report, e-course, ebook or anything that would entice them to give you their email address. When you choose the service that will host your email list, be sure they do a double opt-in confirmation of those who subscribe, it’s now the law.

In this article we covered the top five ways to market your website and a couple of things you need to do before you ever even start. Now it’s time to get out there and implement some of these strategies.

Picking Selective Keywords for Higher Search Engine Ranking

Internet Marketing Articles, Search Engine Optimization and SEO No Comments »

AddThis Social Bookmark Button

Keywords are an essential component of producing a web site. These are the words which the search engines use to help categorize and rank your pages. For instance, if your web site is about ‘writing articles’ then your keywords could include ‘writing’, ‘articles’, ‘article writing’ and so on.

The advice from many web designers and search engine optimizers has been to find as many keywords as you can. They advise you to search for keywords using a variety of online tools and software programs which can identify leading keywords. At first sight this seems attractive, but it actually defies logic.

Let’s take a look at the aim of a search engine. It’s job is to track down pages that meet the specific search term that a web surfer has typed in. The more closely the pages it serves up match the search term, the better it is for users. Search engines need to be as accurate as possible in delivering the right material to their users. Otherwise the web surfer goes elsewhere.

Now imagine you are a search engine algorithm – the mathematical program which calculates the probability of any web page matching the search term typed in. If the page has hundreds, or thousands of keywords you’ll be a bit confused. For instance, is this web page about ‘article writing’, or is it about ‘feature writing for journalists’. They are different things. You’ll end up knowing the page is relevant but not that relevant. So you rank it down the bottom.

But what if the page only has the keyword ‘article writing’ several times? You’re absolutely clear the page is about article writing and so you rank it highly.

Admittedly, it’s not quite as simple as this. But this is the principle of search engine technology. It is trying to find the most relevant pages that match the search term.

What this means for Internet marketers is that you need separate pages for each keyword. Focus each page on each individual keyword. Use the keyword in headings, sub-headings, the page text, the page title tag and in the meta tags. Avoid having pages which contain several keywords as that simply confuses the search engines and lowers your rankings.

So forget the advice to have hundreds or thousands of keywords. Go for single pages that match single keywords and you will find your page traffic increase.

This trick also works for Google AdWords. Each advert should apply to just a handful of keywords – you get much greater click through rates and therefore cheaper advertising when you only have a couple of keywords per advert. If you have hundreds of keywords you’ll find you’ll get greater results by having keyword specific ads, rather than one advert with hundreds of keywords.

So go against the advice of filling your pages and adverts with keywords. Go specific.

Ask any marketing expert and they’ll tell you “the money’s in the list”. Email is a powerful and easy way to build a list and communicate your marketing messages to leads and customers. Here are the top 10 reasons to use email marketing.

1. Email marketing is virtually free. Email is truly unique in it’s ability to put your marketing message in front of thousands of potential customers at virtually no cost. This means that virtually 100% of revenue generated from email campaigns is pure profit.

2. Email is personal. Everyone’s favorite sound is the sound of their own name. Most email marketing solutions allow you to automatically customize email messages with personal data such as the subscriber’s name.

3. Valuable demographic data can be collected. When a lead subscribes to your email list, you can collect valuable data about your potential customers. This data allows you to better target your marketing messages to your list.

4. Email messages are sent instantaneously. With the touch of a button, your marketing message is sent to your list. There is no waiting for the post office to deliver the message to the customer’s mailbox.

5. Email is transparent. With email, virtually every marketing metric can be tracked with a high degree of precision. Among the metrics that can be tracked are delivery rates, open rates, click through rates, and conversion rates.

6. Email marketing is highly automated. Very little manpower is required to create an email campaign. Essentially, the only manual work required is the copy writing of email message itself. Other aspects such as delivery and tracking are done automatically.

7. Email messages do not necessarily require any design work. Unlike many other forms of marketing, email messages require little to no designing. In fact, it has been shown that plain text email messages with no HTML tend to be more effective. Plain text messages are much less likely to trigger spam filters and consequently have significantly higher delivery rates.

8. Rapid response time. Particularly if you sell products online, an email campaign can begin to generate a response almost immediately. Customers don’t have to leave their home and can make a purchase with the click of a button.

9. Email is the ultimate “word of mouth” marketing vehicle. If your email message is “viral” in nature, your customer can quickly and easily forward it to friends and family, spreading your message to new potential customers.

10. Email helps you build a relationship of trust with your customers. Email solves one of the greatest challenges in marketing: building a relationship with customers. Email allows you to keep in touch with customers, get their feedback, offer support, etc.

Email marketing is a powerful, inexpensive, and cost-effective marketing medium. Start using email today to build your online business.
